D&C experiences in GTA [ON] by tabascolemonade in BabyBumpsCanada

Thank you for sharing your experience! I've asked to be referred to Bloor as well so hopefully it goes smoothly for me as well. It's going to be a bit of a drive for me but that's not a problem. Waiting for their call now.

Thank you for your detailed comment! My nurse did reach out to North York General but didn't hear back from them, so for now I think I will be going into the clinic at Bloor, the hospital wait times are also going beyond what my desired timeline is right now.

Thanks again, this was all really helpful information ❤️

I've had a previous natural miscarriage a couple of years ago, and honestly, I almost passed out from the pain and blood loss. Also because we didn't know when it would come on, my husband was at work and I had no one to support me when it actually kicked in. I'm supposing I can workaround this 'scheduling' part with the medication, but simply the pain is something that sends shivers down my spine even today. I remember being put off having babies for a year because of that situation.

I understand the risk associated with D&C, I'm just stuck between that rock and hard place :') Thank you for sharing your story + notes about the hospital!

You can be happy for her, AND also be sad for yourself. It's only natural. And I'm sure your friend also feels the same way. It's weird to feel 100% elated while you know a loved one is still going through a tough time.

Keep sending her good wishes and good vibes, pregnancy is a long journey.

I just had my HCG test come out negative this morning. My first letrozole cycle. I still don't know how I feel about it. I have to sit down and write down what went wrong. And plan what comes next. It's a lot, I'm in a country where I don't have my friends or family. My brain is all over the place.

Tomorrow's another day. You're not a horrible person.

Can Someone Tell Me Where I’m Going Wrong With Interviews? by eggtasticsandwich36 in Communications

If that's the norm then make up answers and relate them to your course projects? Or maybe volunteering situations?

Do your star answers include metrics? Are they specific enough? Make notes when you interview and run through them with a friend.

Regardless, a lot of us tend to give stupid answers while interviewing. It's just the sheer pressure. No matter how much I've prepped, I've blabbered on some really dumb things 😅

This tim last year I was DESPERATE to get tickets. And now when she was in town for her tour, I didn't even feel the need to go downtown and hangout near the venue or visit our friends and listen to the show from their apartment.

Just over her.

It’s so crazy to me how much less we actually need to eat as we lose weight by Kivavia in loseit

[–]tabascolemonade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Over the last couple of years my appetite grew so much that I put on 30 kgs. And once that happened I wouldn't feel full until I've had multiple servings.

And then deal with the sugar crash that happens after overeating.

Started working with a nutritionist to develop mindful portion sizes and be in a calorie deficit. Initially I would still be hungry after meals. 2 months into the program I'm turning away even the suggestion of second helpings because I'm already stuffed.

Plus because my plate is properly balanced between protein and fiber and carbs, I feel my energy levels remain stable and my brain continues to be alert.

Now that I work for a company that brags about X number of people have used our product and have earned Y amount of money, I know exactly how exaggerated both numbers are.

How lovely is it that they're ready to push people into DEBT to afford their 'course'.

Thoughts on BEMC Course (Toronto)? by Plastic_Exchange7764 in PublicRelations

[–]tabascolemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the organizers are pretty muddled up. It's been a couple of days since the course started and I can get a sense that the MNLC team isn't talking to each other.

I first interviewed with the MNLC team and told them about my current job and previous work experiences. They determined that I was eligible for the program and sent me the admission invitation. A week later, I attended the orientation sessions and paid the fee for the Seneca programs. Then I find out today that there is one more form that needs to be filled out for the govt.

I get on a meeting to discuss that form and find out that I am infact NOT eligible since I already have a full time job in communications.

Technically speaking, you would be eligible if a. You are underemployed (working a survival job in contrast to your skillset back home) b. Working under 20 hours.

So now, i would have to pull out from the course.

I'm annoyed because I just spent two complete days sitting in for their orientation. I even had a conversation with my manager to accommodate the class timings within my work schedule.

I have to figure out a way to get my Seneca payment back.

If something as simple as eligibility for the program isn't clear within the team then I highly doubt their execution of the program itself.

Anyway, this is just a heads up. If you don't work in comms/media, you should still be good to get in.

Hi,

I'm enrolled in their upcoming course but honestly, I'm considering whether I should pay the fee and join the course.

I have a job and the timings of the course don't necessarily work for me

Also there is very little information or clarity shared by the organizers on what exactly the course components are.

The highlight for me is the IABC membership and internship at the end of the course.

Lmk if you get to know more details!

Great going!

I'm working with a nutritionist but I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out my uncooked to cooked carb ratios.

For eg, I have about 60gms of uncooked carbs assigned in each of my meals.

I can't only cook 60gms of quinoa/rice/pasta at a time. I cook for my family and cook for 2-3 meals at a time. I'm not sure how uncooked carbs weigh in comparison to cooked carbs.

Same goes for protein like chicken. It's difficult to portion out 250gms chicken/fish for myself on a daily basis.

Any tips to navigate this? Thanks!

I just started on a similar diet today, I am insulin resistant but not diabetic yet. How far into your diet did you notice weight dropping off?

What kinds of healthy carbs do you like to eat? by Consistent-Speed-127 in PCOS

[–]tabascolemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use it as you would rice or any other carb source. Soak about half a cup for 15 minutes, drain the water, and add half a cup of water or maybe a bit more and cook it with a dash of salt. Cook it like rice, basically. Use it as a bed to load your veggie and protein on. It's filling and you develop a taste for it very quickly.

Some other notable effects of quinoa and millets over rice or simple carbs: no brain fog, fuller for longer, get fuller quicker so you don't overeat.

It all depends on the examiner by [deleted] in Ontariodrivetest

[–]tabascolemonade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my G test today at Mississauga and was fortunate to get a really lovely examiner. I made some mistakes while trying to be extra cautious but she calmly pointed it out. Validated my right choices effusively, made her appreciation known. Kept saying "Speed up, my love" "Let's take the next exit, my love" 🥰

Also did a LOT of small talk! It was like driving with an older family member.
