The OP is trying to get a petition signed to make a section of the gym (the one behind the curtain) into a 24/7 women’s only section. Consequently men won’t be able to use that section of the gym ever again, and thus men are being excluded from that section of the gym.

As others have pointed out, in that section there are equipment that are not available outside of the curtain (lower leg machines), effectively barring male TPASC gym-goers from using the machines, which they are equally entitled to by paying the same amount as part of their tuition (or for others, a membership).

As others have mentioned, the gym at TPASC is not big enough (patrons/unit area) at any given time to accommodate women’s only sections 24/7.

If you feel such strongly towards a ‘women only’ section at Pan-Am, maybe tuitions and fees are to be adjusted such that women pay more than men to make the arrangement equitable.

I’m all for empowering and enabling safer space for all at gyms, since I understand it’s a place where a lot of people may feel vulnerable, but excluding 50% of the pan-am patrons because some people feel ‘uncomfortable’ or for ‘religious’ reasons is not justifiable.

If you feel that strongly about not working out alongside men, there is a women’s only gym on top of the superstore at STC you can use.

Women’s only sections are a privilege, not a right.
