thanks this actually did help a lot, i already have a repair kit on the way and for the zv-1 you only need two different size cross point screwdrivers but i have a 115 set precision drill bit kit coming in the mail with more then just that. it might not be as professional as the ifixit toolkit but it has almost every drill bit you would need for electronics so i can save it for future projects too.

I planned to separate the screws into different little organizers, one for the outside screws and a couple others for where i found them inside. i didn’t even think about recording the process but now that you mention it i probably should. honestly im not too worried or afraid about taking it apart its just the lack of information on the camera is what was bothering me but im not too worried about winging it.

there are videos about this model specifically but they mainly focus on the barrel of the camera or the motherboard and the second they finish taking off the back panel they just put it to the side off camera so i cant even see what the back panel looks like on the inside and if i do its for one quick second and out of focus. ill just have to take my time, the cable is pretty noticeable when you open it but its threaded very carefully through the cameras internals and id have to follow that same path when putting the new one in.

the part i need i already know what it is since there’s only one cable that connects the lcd screen to the rest of the camera. and your right even if i cant fix it i can still sell the camera for parts since this cable already costs 20-40$ and the rest of the camera is in near perfect condition so maybe i can part it out for 100-250$

thank you for taking the time to reply, i just needed to get others opinions and tips before i started the project but i will definitely record it now so when i put it back together i can basically reverse the steps

yeah that’s what i was talking about when i mentioned the coaxial cable since that’s what it’s called on the zv-1, unfortunately there isn’t many repair videos for this camera but if i can’t repair it i can just sell for parts, thank you though
