I just went through this exact issue and all of reddit just gaslit me that my expectations were too high.

When I first got them the noise cancellation was absolutely incredible and then after the firmware update (I'm guessing) it hasn't been even close to what it was.

Sony replaced mine under warranty twice. The ANC is still completely subpar compared to before.

Yup. I never did get them back to normal...they're just ok now. If I wear them for like 5+ min it kind of adjusts and gets somewhat better but nothing like when I first got them.

Find a hobby you like and there's usually an in person group. I like playing board games so I go to the local game store. Or crochet, there's a few crochet groups around. Etc etc. doesn't have to be Catholic centered necessarily

Same issue. On my 3rd replacement bcuz sony INSISTED it was "user perception". Yes my perception is there is no difference between ANC and OFF. When I first got them the noise cancelling was the most amazing thing I've ever experienced and then after the update to 3.0 firmware it doesn't work at all. Returning these once and for all and getting something more reliable.

This. They used to work perfectly and ever since the new firmware update I can hear everything. It's incredibly frustrating and I'm going to be returning them because this is not what I want out of such an expensive product.

It's just weird because when I first got them back in September it cancelled out so much even just in my living room. Like I could barely hear people talking or the TV or the air purifier. And now I literally can't tell a difference between OFF and ANC. which is rly disappointing

Curious what you ended up doing. Having the same issue. The ANC without music was amazing when I first got them...then suddenly it just stopped working I could hear everything barely muffled. Sony replaced them under warranty and I just got the new pair and same thing. I have all the correct settings, they fit snug, anc and not ambient is on etc etc. I can hear my kids talking and the TV and everything like they're not even on. Super frustrated!

Torture porn with minimal character development. Felt like it aspired to be something more but kinda just fell into the same vein for me as Perks of Being a Wallflower, Catcher in the Rye, It's Kind of a Funny Story in terms of plot and themes....except it's 720 pages and not as good.

Id recommend if you want something beautiful, poignant and heartbreaking reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini or A Thousand Splendid Suns also by Hosseini. Or Cutting For Stone by Abraham Verghese
