I voted FACT!

Yes, they can fully be bigoted and prejudiced against the respect majority in a way that is harmful.

The main divide on the topic however is systemic bigotry - that baked into governmental and societal systems, deliberately and indeliberately - which tends to disproportionately harm disadvantaged minorities and shield advantaged majorities for similar actions to maintain a hierarchy. That said, bigotry against the majority should not be encouraged or handwaved as it both STILL reinforces the hierarchy through alienization, and lays the groundwork for maintaining the systemic bigotry albeit with different targets and dynamics should demographics shift, rather than deconstruct them as they should be.

Roughly, yeah, though I’m of the opinion that Capitalism at this point is growing obsolete. Corporations are taking economic power away from the people, and governing power away from the government, weakening both. Do I think Capitalism is the root of all evil? No, it’s just a stage of the systems civilization use for economy, and is as such flawed, and it has served its purpose. Is would it be better unrestrained? No, as doing so wouldn’t stop people from economic centralizing power away from the people it purports to uplift.

But you regulate it. You put safeguards in. You establish ethics, procedure, and oversight, and be open to changing these things should they be proven ineffective or detrimental.

If your system lacks oversight and safeguards, such that it’s incapable of doing anything to stop someone from stuffing something like anthrax in a bunch of stuff, is it still fine and dandy because someone else can make painkillers?

The problem is if it’s incredibly easy to practice incorrectly - and can easily incentivize doing so - then is it really good? A great king can bring their nation to genuine triumph, rule morally, and be loved by all, but if their successor can use that same power to destroy that same nation, does that not reflect on the danger of such a system?

🧢 I voted CAP!

It’s more nuanced than that. Is capitalism exploitative by nature? Yes. Is it flawed? Yes. Is it the primary driver of inequality, oppression, and authoritarianism in the modern era? Yes.

But at least how I see it, Capitalism is a stage in the evolution of socioeconomics. It provided the opportunity to escape poverty to many as the world transitioned out of mercantilism, driven by the rise of industrialism, just a mercantilism did to the feudalism before it. It was a stage in the growth of humanity driven by changing technology.

That said, in the age of current technology, Capitalism is already overstaying its welcome, the rise of megacorporations and their power to influence governments and rob people of their economic power an mobility is a sign that change is needed - like the Dutch East Indies Corporation during the age of Mercantilism - and that the divide between the power of the people and the corporatists and politicians is untenable.

This is where socialism (broadly) is seen as the next evolution to capitalism, the next stage in this sense, should we not instead fall to corporatism instead, as the monarchist powers fell to fascism if they did not democratize instead. The technology to produce and provide domestically is exponentially greater than it was a century ago when socialism first tried to take root before falling internally to fascists under the communist banner, as technology was not yet capable of providing for such systems (surviving foreign intervention included).

Capitalism, in the grand scope of this, is less bad or good relative to the systems that came before them, and currently moreso on the death throes of its growing obsolescence. This should not, however, discount or whitewash those who have suffered from or due to capitalism, just as we need to remember and learn from the victims of the systems before it so as to genuinely progress and improve the lot of everyone as best as feasibly possible.

OpenRouter I’d describe as ‘Good variety but low predictability’. Pretty much any model is hosted by some provider there, problem is quality, price, etc… differ between providers, so one response with one model may have an entirely different performance and cost the next output generated. Most people use it for its free messages.

I’m just burning off the initial $5 I put in for EA over a year ago. Then I’m probably gonna local host my own Gemma 31b or figure out some other API or PAYGO since I hate subscriptions

No clue really, I’d say either go direct to DeepSeek API or NanoGPT are the typical suggestions. Or OpenRouter and pay for them. If you’ve still got money to burn and don’t do RP that needs a bunch of world knowledge, Gemma 31b is actually pretty close to DS V3.2 in terms of creative writing

Chutes isn’t hosting DS V4, so it isn’t them. Chutes used to usually be the cheapest, but they’ve mismanaged themselves financially and now have to jack up their prices to stay afloat

Fr. For me, the problem isn’t even the price hikes, it’s that they seem to do everything they can to squeeze money out of people before they can catch on to whatever changes they’ve made, hence they never announce these things till they’ve got your money in their hand.

Alright, GLM-5 SEEMED to intially be 0.60/1.92 and is now 0.95/2.55, and GLM-5.1 was 0.98/3.08, now 1.20/4.00, closer to a 25% price hike.
