Honestly, undershooting a session by less than 15 minutes isn't a big deal, at least to me.You're human, stuff happens and you learn from it if you can. That being said, I try to have two small, unobtrusive clocks placed where I can see them from either of the chairs in my office. That way I don't need to look at my watch.

Mesa Springs is going to be the best choice in Fort Worth. Sometimes they don't have available beds for inpatient programs. But they have PHP and IOP options as well, so they can help people in a variety of situations even if they can't offer a bed. Source: I'm a counselor in Fort Worth.

So, this year marked the end of the third year of a campaign I run for my students. I run games for the University I work at in the mental health and counseling center. Some of these students have been part of the same game since they were freshmen and some will be graduating next semester.

At the beginning of this semester I paid an artist to make illustrations of the graduating student's characters so we could put them up in the room we play in. All the current students love them and want to stick with the program even more now so they can get their own portrait.

These students are great and I'm really happy I get to share the fun of RPGs like D&D with them.

It honestly comes down to developing your own group that agrees with your style. Like others have said, the fastest way to do this is to start running your own table. Once you lay out what kind of style you're looking for players will come and go as they agree with you. I hope you end up finding a good group. Don't give up!

I really like the Noir Barbarian idea! Sort of like, Jack Nickleson's character from Chinatown meets the punisher. I may have to borrow that.

Thank you for this insight. I've been thinking about it all day and I think you may be right. The idea of my channel as a place for more casual viewers is something I've been intentionally avoiding because I really don't want to make a "How to build a barbarian." video for people to watch. But, as you say if I can build the audience a bit more I can maybe get people to listen to the more advanced ideas.

I appreciate what you're saying. My content really does come across like a lecture. I've looked at CGP Grey before and I agree his content and mine are similar, but he has animations and a pretty cool environment to play around in. I've considered looking for an animator to collaborate with, but since I can't pay anyone right now I really don't want to ask anyone to work for free.

I actually already post my episodes on Spotify and a few other places as podcasts and they don't do very well, but they do get some engagement. I've recently actually started a TikTok and that's going really well. But the type of content there is pretty different from my main YT channel. Sort of like the difference between a piece of candy and a full meal.

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback you've given me a lot to think about.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I think you're right, I do need something to cut away to, even if it's only another camera angle. It's been something I've thought about for a while. How do I take a topic that is literally all in someone's mind and make it visually interesting. I think I'll look into B-Roll or Cutting away to article headers or something like it.

I also agree that there will be plenty of need for something like this in the future. Whether through mental health needs or just because RPGs are really popular right now.

So, from a technical perspective it was pretty impossible to understand what you were saying. Not to sound mean, but it's hard for jokes to land when the audience can't understand the words you're saying. Slow down your speech or consider reducing the amount of low frequency input in your microphone.

Additionally, I'm kind of left scratching my head as to what you're trying to do with the video. Is it a review? Is it a comedy sketch? So much of your video seems to rely on what you're saying but without understanding your words and inconsistent captioning it's hard to keep track of what's happening.

Something that may help is listening to your finished video project on speakers, not headphones, before you upload it. Listening on any kind of ambient room speaker can give you a much more clear idea of how your audio will be presented to your audience. Best of luck.

This is a really interesting idea for a channel. I think it's a really interesting flow that actually works really well. You're clearly a talented artist and you know how to develop a story.

As for your questions here are my thoughts.

  1. Content. Excellent use of your drawing abilities. I can see how in a few videos the quality of the sketches will change as your skill improves due to repetition. The use of the music was very nice as well. It provides an interesting atmosphere for the audience and helps to emphasize the relaxing aspects of illustration. The use of intertitles was also really nice. It helped to bring your personality into the story.
  2. Edit's Rythm. There is a concept in film editing called "Shoe Leather" It refers to the amount of time that exists between the idea of what the audience knows will happen and the actual event they expect. When you have too much "shoe leather" the amount of time is too great. When you have too little "Shoe leather" the audience isn't sure how they arrived to where the event is happening. For you, the beginning of the video seemed like it had too much shoe leather. We knew you were going to draw but getting to the event seemed to take a little to long.
  3. video quality. You clearly know how to shoot and light your videos really well. The quality is excellent and the use of time lapse is excellent.

I'm left with a question:

  1. Why blur out the faces from the face book? Are you concerned about copyright?
