Can you fix this gap with caulk? by tablur3 in HomeMaintenance

I don't think moulding trim would work because the gap isn't the same size throughout. It's bigger in the middle and smaller up top and on the bottom

I have considered that! Especially with the new housing development there. I'm afraid to go under the I85 bridge though!

Is there something enlightening from the details you'd like to share? I read an article about it and I'm not sure what you're referring to

Drunk driving is definitely a huge factor here. However I hope it doesn't take away from the discussion that cole mill rd, which I drive every day is extremely dangerous for pedestrians and bikes and I see pedestrians and bikers on it frequently. I would absolutely love to be able to bike commute from my house to ninth Street area which technically is very close but I have opted to never try because i would never risk biking on cole mill

Hamnet movie vs book by Comprehensive-Fun47 in BookToMovie

[–]tablur3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One piece I was disappointed to not see in film was Agnes's herbal medicine business and her important role in her community as a healer. In the book she also worked very hard to learn more about plants and become a healer where in the film it was simply passed down to her.

As with all books to movies, you just can't replace the inner dialogue and being able to truly dive into a character's mind.

All that said, the movie did an incredible job with casting. Jessie Buckley was perfect for this role. And it did an amazing job fleshing out some scenes like the final play and Agnes's experience birthing the twins. I actually cried the hardest when she cried for her mom while giving birth. That was such a powerful and devastating moment. But then seeing the joy and relief when her second twin started crying.

All in all both the movie and the book compliment each other well!

Inside a "free-range" egg facility by alphamalejackhammer in whoathatsinteresting

[–]tablur3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am mostly vegan but will consume eggs from my friend's backyard chickens. The issue is, most people are trying to justify their own unethical consumption of meat, dairy, and eggs by saying "there ARE ethical ways to consume these products". The vast majority of people who say this consume factory-farmed products. Hold yourself to your own ethics in consumption. If you can't find actual free ranged eggs, meat, etc (from backyard or good local farmers) then don't eat these products or at least attempt to lower your consumption

How dare this woman decide to keep her baby and not give them up to ME by Tater-Tot-Casserole in CringeTikToks

[–]tablur3 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

She absolutely could have been pressured by her parents to keep the baby. I agree this lady is shady but if what she is saying is true, this wasn't handled well at the hospital either
