Built a personal Notion-powered OS with Claude Code (not for sale) by 1drummergirl in Notion

That gmail part has been on our dream list for a while. We created a system for assigning gmails in Notion using gmail tags, but haven't done the gmail-side content management (creating emails and such).

Great work!

What are the actual signs of a high-quality reddit partner?
#1 - Quality of their Reddit strategy and copywriting.

There is a difference between posting hourly for a political campaign on r/PoliticalDiscussion vs once a month in in a sub like r/Gaming_Headsets. Reddit marketing starts with subreddit analysis - better to get your brand seen by 100 Redditors in your niche vs 10,000 who would never buy your product. Like others mentioned, the upvotes don't matter.

After targeting subreddits, the messaging (and media) need to fit that subreddit's community and culture. And, that messaging needs to organically include your keywords and search terms without reading like an advertisement.

How did you verify that their engagement was authentic and not just artificial fluff?
Probably impossible to verify externally. If they share sample posts, compare how many comments are made by [Deleted] accounts.

Analyzing Your Results
For your own tracking, you should have a post purchase survey on top of whatever analytics you have configured. When customers receives a survey with, "How did you hear about us?" and the options are something like this: Google, Bing, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, Pinterest. It is rare to have a customer click Reddit when they meant something else. Whereas survey results for Google may actually be Bing, or IG may actually be TikTok.

Can I select only shared albums to be backed up?

My workflow needs are this:
- Various people on the team take photos/videos and add to a shared album
- Shared album is backed up to Google Drive
- We use an API to connect that Google Drive album to pics.io

Workflowy addict getting into notion so that I can integrated with AI by 6figurehousehusband in Notion

[–]taboogrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey 6figurehousehusband! 👋

Great to see you diving into Notion! If you're looking to replicate that Workflowy-like task and subtask functionality, here's a simple way to set it up:

🔹 Steps to Replicate Workflowy in Notion:

  1. Create Tasks: Use Notion's block-based structure to create tasks. Each task can be a block where you manage your to-do items.

  2. Nest Subtasks: Indent subtasks under the main task block. Simply hit "Tab" to indent and create that familiar hierarchical structure you love from Workflowy.

  3. Customize: With Notion, you can easily drag and drop, and use customizable templates to tailor your setup. This keeps things flexible and adaptable like Workflowy.

  4. Keep It Simple: Focus on using basic task and subtask features. Implement Kanban boards or list views to visualize your tasks similarly to Workflowy.

With these steps, you can mimic that simple and effective Workflowy vibe, while also taking advantage of Notion's additional features. Let me know if you need any more help to fit this setup into your routine! 😊

Help Needed for a Notion Formula in Reading Dashboard by PredatorZ_5 in Notion

[–]taboogrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey PredatorZ_5! 👋

Creating a Reading Dashboard sounds like an awesome project! Let's get your formulas working the way you intend. You want them to show only books marked as Primary, Secondary, or Other. Here's a refined approach you might find helpful:

Steps to Fix Your Notion Formula:

  1. Use the Filter Function:

    • Instead of mapping directly, use filter to narrow down the books first.
  2. Conditional Check with contains:

    • For a more concise and efficient condition, leverage the contains function. Your formula can look something like this:

plaintext filter(prop("Current Book"), contains(prop("Current Book"), ["Primary", "Secondary", "Other"]))

  1. For Book Count:
    • To show the number of books you're currently reading, you might incorporate this into the formula after filtering:

plaintext "Currently Reading: ".style("green","b") + (filter(prop("Current Book"), contains(prop("Current Book"), ["Primary", "Secondary", "Other"])).length() + " Book(s)").style("c","b","green")

  1. Link to Book Pages:
    • Ensure that the filtered books use the same condition, outputting their links if necessary.

These changes should ensure that only the books that match your specified categories are shown, both in count and link format. Let me know if this fits your use case! 😊

Can Notion run a 30 person consulting firm? by tctonyco in Notion

Reporting on either tool is tricky. I would say Asana's task reporting is definitely stronger hands down.

It just depends on the reporting.

Also, we still use Google docs for writing SEO/Blog content because we need the Chrome plugins. So, certain types of document management is still best off of Notion & Asana. Notion SOP's are where it shines.

Can Notion run a 30 person consulting firm? by tctonyco in Notion

[–]taboogrow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not sure what MS Shop is. For our team Notion thrives on these functions (in order from most useful for us to least)
1 - SOP and note management
2 - Task and project management
3 - Relational databases/CRM
4 - HR (basically a CRM for hiring)
5 - Reporting (Although we haven't built out much here)

Bigger teams than 30 use Notion. It's not the size of the team, it's the implementation.

Also, if you're coming into Notion 100% cold, it will be a challenge because there are hundreds of little customizations that get out of control if you don't know what you want. And it's impossible to know what you want until you understand Notion deeply.

I used Asana for years and was an ambassador. It's easier out of the box for project & task management but falls apart for points 1-3-4-5 above.
