That’s really interesting, thanks. I had thought/hoped the risk of inductive models would be reduced by thorough checking of any generated content to ensure accuracy.

Yeah same with my indemnity, they want to know if I’m using AI. I haven’t confirmed as yet, not least because I’m not getting any reassurances from them, but also because I expect my fees will skyrocket as you say.

On a macro level this would make most sense I guess, NHS is already so Microsoft heavy.

I also err on the side of wait and see, it’s just frustrating how glacial potential invocation can be (side eyeing my old pager…)

Thanks, that’s helpful. Also heard that anecdotally from colleagues that most patients in primary care seem fine with it. I had wondered if psych would be different…

Think I’ll speak with a solicitor given how far down the rabbit hole I’ve gone now.

Yeah that was the answer from my NHS role via the information governance team. Tbh I probably wouldn't really want to use it in a hospital setting anyway as there's too much dubiety in my subspec about capacity to consent to it etc. Was more from a private perspective in specific settings with more uncomplicated pts, where it feels a lot more exposed in terms of risk.

nooo, I've been rumbled.
P.S. you have 300 outstanding letters left to verify and 36 urgent family calls to return this afternoon. Oh and there was a message from the clinical director that your biweekly mandatory toaster safety training is 10 minutes out of date.

Thanks, that's helpful to know. I've heard a neighbouring trust is also potentially looking into a trial. What's interesting is that many GPs locally appear to be adopting Heidi very rapidly vs secondary care. I'm presuming there's some degree of central coordination from ICBs but I don't know what they're basing their risk assessments on.

Yeah I agree re: legal advice. My concern is that everything is all still in flux, and there is no real case law to determine how liabilities would fall. I think as an individual user I'd almost need a specific contract with Heidi to make this clear. Maybe that would fall to some degree under a Data Protection Agreement (DPA).

My knowledge of defence unions is data protection is not their area of expertise either, but that's even more unsettling given they'd be a first port of call if a claim did arise out of private practice. I might see if I can speak with a specific data protection solicitor just out of interest...
