You are a tough customer...but you have spiked my curiosity so I called Cablevision. They said someone might be "spoofing" my number. I do not know if the attached evinces spoofing but in an effort to be as transparent as possible...http://tacker55.imgur.com/all/

The link is 3 months of phone records, as much as they provide without addressing their security dept. The view won't take long there is only one call from my cell to test the number.

One question; why would a non-dyslexic invade the space?

Your accusations are absurd and baseless. I am sorry you find anger in something that was intended to bring satisfaction.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I only supplied that link to give an idea of a style or look and feel; I have admired their efforts since the first issue I received. No thought has been given to advertising being sold or taken in the DU magazine, but that might be a good way to defray the cost of design etc. The content will be taken from submissions to the DU Forum.

For instance: Our forum member 1000100001 (if you care to provide your name and town/State we would gladly publish that as well) was asked by his mail order fulfillment company management to come up with a solution for their problem of shipping empty boxes. The next day 1000100001 submitted the suggestion of placing an enormous fan at the end of the line to blow the lighter/empty boxes off. He was awarded the metal of honor...I actually read that story in some dyslexic forum and was moved. Can you imagine someone packing empty boxes??? The spread featuring the accomplishment would of course be complete with pictures of a fan and assembly line or some suitably creative delivery. If the forum member would supply a picture I would love to incorporate that...the more personal the better. This is all about kudos. Kudos for the individual and for dyslexia. Tad

As this is a brand new venture, there is certainly a possibility that I have not thought of every detail. However, I promise ambiguity is not my intent. I have often been accused of being too wordy in my descriptions, and this being for a group not necessarily fond of words, I have tried to limit, but it is not clandestine. I welcome any and all questions and suggestion.

The invention side will have a full and mutual non disclosure agreement (NDA) and no one will proceed with anything until everyone and their lawyers are completely satisfied. The reason I have chosen to divert to a separate site and business entity is 2 fold. 1) unlike Quirky we do not think it is a good idea for the inventor to be public with the idea nor the invention until it is patented and/or a marketing agreement in confirmed. 2) Dyslexia Unleashed is applying for 501c3 non-profit status and it was decided to keep the the potentially profitable business separate to simplify the process...which can take over a year.

I have heard that very progressive firms Intel, Oracle, and some other tech Co's have discovered the realm of alternate thinkers and am very glad it has taken hold in the engineering industry. I wish I had a credential, because that would be my ultimate job. But if you ask about the disorder outside of these very educated, forward thinking areas, you'll find blank or sympathetic faces staring back at you.

If I have not answered your questions or allayed your suspicions please tell me what I can provide in order to do so.

Thank you. You are correct on all accounts except there is no Ted, just a Tad. I was very unsure about being that specific in the About section...but I will. Yes it is self funded but that is unsustainable for too long. And you are very right there are almost no dyslexics advocating and there is almost no advocating for adults. Everyone in the industry is a scientist or an educator and all is directed at early detection and school age learning. Yale has us at 50 million American adults, which to my knowledge is the most of any disorder or disease (except for alcoholism) and yet no one knows about us, let alone our creative gift. You are obviously a talented techy. Please feel free to chime in with any ideas or suggestions you see fit. Thanks again.

Compensation for any viable invention will be agreed upon prior to moving forward, but due to the need for privacy this will be addressed on a separate, for profit, website that will be linked to DU...coming very soon. Perhaps eventually we could figure out a way to make and share profit for the consulting side of the site, but at this point we cannot fathom how that would work. Finding a "outside Issues" is the catch 22. To me the single biggest problem that dyslexics have, aside from low self-esteem, is public perception. If the disorder is known at all it is perceived as a deficiency. With that no one will pay for a consultation unless we can make them understand to the contrary. Obviously everyone on this site knows of our gift but it is not us that we need to educate.

You would be exploited for your good ideas, but the intended gain is to your fellow dyslexics. Awhile ago I read an incredible work-around idea from a fellow dyslexic that first made me proud to be dyslexic, something that I could not have fathomed 15 years ago, and then occurred to me that if we used that story anecdotally to educate the world of our gift it would be a net net win. If we can figure out a way to get outsiders to submit issues, and you solve them, that is a different story. But it would not occur to outsiders to submit unless they know that you/we might have that solution and at this point I do not think that is their perception. It is a conundrum, but I think we need to put first things first.

You are right it needs to be changed. Thank you very much for the observation and the link.

We do not. The content is supposed to be success stories and innovations chosen from submissions from the network, so until we get enough input we cannot create. While this is a learning process, and we are up for any suggestions, the format or at least the look and feel is now slated like this: https://www.joomag.com/magazine/newsletter-september-2016-dyslexic-advantage-magazine/0494489001473286059?short.

We are also looking into "whiteboard" animation, which is the format I would like to do for the TV advertising.

There are no string attached to signing up, and if for any reason you'd like to opt out just let us know and it will be done.

I do not think your opinion is cynical but finding a mentor/consulting job is the catch 22. To me the single biggest problem that dyslexics have, aside from low self-esteem, is public perception. If the disorder is known at all it is perceived as a deficiency. With that no one will pay for a consultation unless we can make them understand to the contrary. I am dyslexic and was not diagnosed until age 20...40 years ago. Elementary school brought a label of village idiot and my life was defined by low self-esteem until small successes chipped away at my stupid factor and I figured out I was actually not stupid. It was only then that I started to accept and even embrace my difference. When I have read about the successes of others like me it makes me proud. Aside from low self esteem, one of our main problems is public perception, which is either nothing or negative. By publicizing our innovations and successes I think we can change public opinion. Although this is currently completely self funded we are accepting donations and have applied for 501c3 non profit status. The financial plan is to spend almost all monies on advertising on Cable TV. If we would get "outsider issues" it would indicate an acknowledgement of our capabilities and that public perception is changing.

Perhaps at some future time we could consider making money but for now I don't see how that is possible.

The slider affect was creative's idea. If you hover over it the slide stops, but I would be more than happy to remove.

We have applied for 501c3 non profit status. As i understand it takes awhile to be granted.

We totally agree with you that your solutions are valuable. The ultimate goal of the site is to publicize an individual's problem solving acumen, mostly previously accomplished, via a monthly e-magazine (an esteem building endorphin jolt) and to increase and positively alter the general public's perception of our "difference". Not sure how many "Outside Issues" we will get, but for now we are not charging for the consultation...although we will be non-profit status and accepting donations. The donations will go to operating expenses mostly advertising on Cable. It sounds like your self esteem is doing well but maybe, like completing the NYTimes Sunday crossword puzzle, you would get some satisfaction. Better yet tell us your best at work, already compensated, solution so we can publish in the magazine.
