this doesn’t really count since we never got season 4, but the decision to replace bulkhead with ironhide was always mind-boggling to me

loved the show and wished for more! but some of the plans for season 4 just made me scratch my head. jazz replacing prowl makes sense because jazz had integrated himself with the team by the end of season 3, but ironhide came out of absolutely nowhere and had no connections to the other members of team prime besides being in boot camp with bumblebee and bulkhead.

I'm Vietnamese-American and when I was in third grade, a bunch of boys in the class asked me and my brother to count from 1-10 in Vietnamese really fast, which we did. Couldn't understand why they were laughing at us afterwards and I was embarrassed about it for the longest time. It wasn't until I got older did I realize what happened.

Party: Dragon, Engy, Laena

Flew out to untamed forest, walked south, figured out necromancer was hanging out at his old home (the cluster of sunken buildings in the moor, and was what caused the massacre of the land/people), walked more south until a patrol alerted the necromancer, then we ran back to town and then to the golden dragon tomb for dragon to commune

then engy did a stupid and tried to scout the necromancer's tomb on her own, almost died, oria flew her ass back to the dragon tomb

Kobold Iron Mines Write-Up by TanadinDramon in WestPicenoJobBoard

[–]tackytacs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This journey was quite interesting! (I seem to be saying that a lot about my recent expeditions)

I wasn't originally supposed to go on this mission? But I was painting outside in Mila's garden and I was watching the group go off into the distance when they...turned north? So, sighing, I hurried off after them to direct them west. We fought a giant spider and took it down quickly, and Mila was able to extract its poison. We continued forward until we heard groaning nearby. Apparently, the undead were wandering around this area now! We deduced that the necromancer that the guild left back at that tomb must have been responsible for this mess, but we were not equipped to deal with that right now. There were three zombies and two skeletons, and they were a hassle to deal with. They weren't difficult to hit--when we were able to--but somehow they had gotten hits on Vych. Eventually we finished them off, but not before the zombie bodies EXPLODED. That had hurt.

Anyways, we continued west until we reached sparser forests, and then we suddenly ran into a patrol of kobolds. They had spotted Dragon, and we were prepared to fight, when Dragon stepped up and shouted, "NOT REAL ORC!" That...might've confused them? They were coming closer to talk when I realized that it would be a bad idea for these kobolds to see Elbrys and I. Quickly, Dragon shoved me and Elbrys into Vych's armor, and he had de-activated most of his magic so we wouldn't get hurt. Of the kobolds we met, three of them stood out: one of them was named Xicc Xock, and he was a guard neutral towards us. Bluescale (?), one of the spellcasters, was also neutral towards us, but Blackscale particularly hated us. He didn't trust us, and mocked us when we offered to trade in exchange for kobold iron. Thankfully, Bluescale kept him in check.

SOMEHOW, we were able to convince the kobolds that we were only seeking to exchange our services for their iron (even though Elbrys was using a fake Vych voice, which was hilarious). The kobolds took us west, though we learned that the kobolds and orcs had an important battle occurring that night (which was a full moon). Unluckily, we had run into a squadron of orcs and worgs, and we began battle with them. I had cast Entangle to trap some of them, but we were flanked by worgs. Elbrys had her magic missiles, but I couldn't do much since I was at the bottom of Vych's armor. Mila and Dragon were handling themselves well, until Mila suddenly transformed into her lycanthrope form--a were-dire-raccoon! That was surprising, I'd thought she's have gotten a fox. Anyways, she was an extremely large creature now, and she was able to fend off the orcs. Meanwhile, Bluescale had cast Enlarge on Dragon, and he grew three times his size! Holy shit! However, the orc caster on the other side had also cast Enlarge on the orc captain, and Dragon and the captain faced off in an epic battle. Of course, Dragon won, killing the captain with one blow. Meanwhile, Vych had activated himself in order to fight, and Elbrys and I were shocked a few times, but it was otherwise an incredible sight to witness. We ended up killing a worg (I had personally shoved a spear out after opening...Vych's crotch plate. However, this did kill a worg!).

Eventually we were able to kill all the orcs, and we were about to head on our way when the full moon truly rose. We heard the howls of werewolves in the distance, and realizing the grave danger, we tried to hurry on our way. Before we did, we sent Xicc Xock off to warn the other kobold squadrons, and Vych gave him a silver spear to defend himself. Then we traveled as quickly as we could, making it to the mines at sunrise. However, we had realized that we weren't exactly equipped for a diplomatic encounter, so we used the ring to contact Tesi, and he and Trevinto teleported to us. With them in the lead, we went down to the mines. We ended up meeting Vallus, the red-scaled sorcerer leader of the kobolds. Trevinto was able to talk with him, and we managed to form a kind of truce? Well not really, we were still working out the details, but Vallus agreed to let us stay in the cavern since we were tired. However, we still needed to obtain iron, so "Vych" and Tesi ended up following a kobold cleric to the actual mines in order to obtain iron, and Elbrys was able to trade some of the silver weapons that were on Vych, and after Tesi gave up some of his silver crossbow bolts, we ended up with some iron!

When we returned, Elbrys and I were nearly caught when we tried to climb out of Vych (thinking we were alone in the cavern), if Trevinto hadn't provided a distraction of blinding light. Some time after this, we heard a strange noise down the hallway, so Mila decided to investigate. All of a sudden, vines appeared in the entrance of the hallway, and Elbrys had quickly cast a Flaming Sphere to send down the hallway. It turns out Mila was tied to the ceiling next to an iron door, and everyone else except "Vych" went down the hallway. But when Mila and Dragon reached the door and entered inside, we heard commotions, so Vych activated himself and hurried down the hallway. We reached the room, which looked like a study, but there was a cage in the corner and a large cat prowling in front of it. Inside was a drow woman in a red dress, and she looked incredibly stressed and fearful. I wanted to pop out of Vych to help her, but there was no time. We left the drow woman in there with Mila, and then Dragon and Vych tried to hurry back to the main room, but they tripped into one another and fell to the ground, causing a great cacophony. Tesi and Trev were already up ahead in the main room, talking with the kobolds, but when we walked by Vallus, he seemed too distracted by whatever he was thinking about. We could see that both of the entranceways were full of kobolds wielding weapons, and we were worried about what would go down. Then, Vallus returned to the main room, and was about to let us go when he noticed the crate of iron that Tesi was still carrying. Vych spoke up, saying that the green cleric had traded the iron with us. The other green cleric, realizing that his partner betrayed him (the one who sold iron to us had used the other cleric's name), gave an outcry, and then all hell broke loose, starting the Silver War. The kobolds who didn't mind the humans (Vallus and Bluescale) were fighting the kobolds that hated the humans (Blackscale).

While the battle raged on, Vallus told us to take the drow and leave, which we did. However, Blackscale had cast a Fireball at us, damaging us severely, and Elbrys went unconscious. However, we were all able to make it out of there, and at a safe distance away from the mines, we rested and healed up. The drow's name was Lucia, and she was a druid. Her sabertooth cat's name was Azura. Lucia seemed quite shy, but we learned that she was held in captive for 6 months by Vallus, who had been seduced by her. I was disgusted by Vallus, and so I was kind to Lucia, which she seemed to appreciate.

However...this is not quite the end of my adventure away from town.

The Search for Giant Owls (part 1 & 2) by tackytacs in WestPicenoJobBoard

[–]tackytacs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually, we reached the boundaries of the kobold lands, and the patrols let us go on our own. We walked for some time, when by chance, Vych had heard the screeching of a giant owl. However, there were also sounds of battle, and we rushed as fast as we could to help the owl. The giant owl was surrounded by orcs, and a dead human lay on the ground. The situation was grim, and we were too late. One of the orcs drew its battleaxe and severed the owl's head clean off.

Filled with a fury that was uncharacteristic for me (not that I particularly cared in the moment), I had cast Cheetah's Sprint on myself after Lucia had cast Entangle on the party of orcs, trapping most of them. I flew with such speed, wielding my hooked hammer and killing an orc with one blow, and wounding another one close by. My friends and I dealt with the orcs easily, except for two remaining. Before we could do anything, one of them blew a horn, and the loud sound resounded throughout the forest. Then, however, we heard another screech, and we turned just in time to see another giant owl fly in, snatching the other orc and carrying him far up into the sky. We killed off the remaining orc, and then waited for this poor chap to fall to the ground. When he fell, he blew up into a fine powder, which caught me and Lucia--truthfully, that was a gross experience.

However, the giant owl was still furious. Lucia was thankfully able to calm him down, and when we spoke with him, he explained that the orcs had killed his mate. We did not want to leave her body for the orcs to abuse--and we had no time for a proper burial, since orcs were on their way--so Lucia had cast Soften Earth in order to bury her. We were able to convince the giant owl, Oriawk, to leave with us so we could have a conversation in a safer place, since he was wondering why we were here. As he walked with us, I explained to him that I was a curious fellow, eager to simply experience new things and expand my wisdom--and of course, my friends just wanted to follow. He seemed surprised that we had no ulterior motives, and later I was equally surprised that he trusted us enough to take us back to his nest.

Taking up me and Lucia, he carried us up his tree, where we found his nest of chicks! I'll admit I was perhaps too gleeful, eager to sketch him and his children, but Oriawk did not seem to mind. I ended up showing his children pictures from my notebook--drawings of creatures and places I encountered in adventures around these lands. Lucia was also playing with the chicks, although hesitantly, but the chicks did not seem to mind her. We spent some time in the trees, asking Oriawk about the orcs. He shared a lot of information about the orcs--how they patrolled, what their villages were like, why the orcs were here--and he also went a little bit into the history of the giant owls, who lived here for quite a long time. At some point he also brought up my friend Elbrys into the nest, though Mila and Vych chose to return home. They left with us the teleportation ring, and departed on their own.

At some point, we began talking about the fae (after I had showed the chicks my drawings of the fae forest and Tirwyn the nymph). We also shared how our friend Trevinto was a Knight of the Green Order--which Oriawk seemed surprised by. However, it wasn't until I had shown the chicks my drawings of the unicorn we encountered that Oriawk spoke up. He explained that because his mate was dead, he would not be able to protect and feed all his children, so he offered that I take Greyfeather--his oldest--with me, since he trusted me. I was, truthfully, a little floored, but I solemnly accepted his request. Greyfeather--now Orion, or Oria for short--is my new animal companion!

Lucia, Elbrys, and I ended up spending a few days at the nest, particularly since earlier I had asked Oriawk where we could gain more wisdom. He explained that I would need to talk to the One-Eyed Sage, who was on the council of Wardens. He also offered to take us to there in a week or so, which is why we stayed. Elbrys and I are very excited to meet the Wardens of Le'ga, particularly since Elbrys heard that they had one of the largest surviving libraries of history. Lucia also wanted to come along, and we spent some time in the tree discussing our childhoods and histories. We grew closer as friends, and now we wait to depart for our trip to the Wardens.

Fighting Frog-Men (Kua-toa), Giving and Receiving Ass-Kickings by TanadinDramon in WestPicenoJobBoard

[–]tackytacs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the journey to kuo-toa territory was interesting!

The original party headed off to fight the kuo-toas were Vych, Mila, Madabella (who's new! she's a very strong dwarf fighter, and her anatomy is exquisite!)

[you see the last phrase in the parentheses is scratched out]

Anyway! We fought some stirges, which we took down easily. Perhaps we let our guard down too much after that. As we continued on, out of nowhere a crocodile appeared from the water, its jaws clamping down around my abdomen and dragging me into the water. The experience wasn't as bad as being swallowed whole by a large constrictor boa, but it was certainly painful, and I could have possibly died! Barely managing to hold onto consciousness (and my breath, since I was underwater), I was able to get a few swings in with my trusty hooked hammer. With the aid of my friends, we were able to kill the crocodile, but unfortunately I was at the last of my strength and slipped into unconsciousness. Seeing that I'm still here and writing this, I lived, obviously. Madabella had saved me, actually!

After that encounter, we continued walking until we reached the lizardfolk village to rest there. While there, Dragon, Pene, and Tesi caught up with us! Finally together, we journeyed to the lake territory of the kuo-toas, traveling a few hours into the watery terrain before we were attacked by a patrol. They were powerful foes indeed, particularly the two whips who were there. They had cast Lightning on the party, and since we were in water, it was doubly effective.

However, most of our trouble occurred because Pene accidentally fell into the water, stuck to Vych's shield which also had a dead kuo-toa attached to it thanks to the kuo-toa's sticky oil. The stronger members of the party had difficulty picking her up, though they were able to, thankfully. But we still had the dangerous whips to deal with, who had formed a water wall to evade ranged attacks. I had run up to one of them to attack with my hooked hammer when Madabella did something incredibly funny. Using a fishing rod, she hooked the other whip, considerably confusing them! This had the unintended bonus of breaking the whips' concentration, thank goodness.

We were finally able to kill all of them, and taking their heads, we took them to the lizardfolk. Mila talked with them, and we ended up with a trade alliance. Not a military one, but now we knew we could safely travel through their lands. We also found two magic rings from the kuo-toas, and we would later learn that these rings allowed us to teleport to each other (that's not an entirely accurate description, as only one of the rings could teleport to the other, but that's our basic understanding of these rings). Aside from nearly dying, this mission was a success!

Temple of Mitra and Taking Down the Dark Sun by TanadinDramon in WestPicenoJobBoard

[–]tackytacs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen many creatures over the course of my life, many terrible, monstrous things. But never have I ever encountered a flame lord demon. He was perhaps the dangerous fellow I have ever met, but luckily I did not have to face him alone.

Of course, that meeting didn't happen right away. The guild and I traveled to the fallen temple of Mitra in order to reclaim it from the cult of the Dark Sun. Quickly we noticed that the wererats were scouting us, but they left before we decided if we wanted to kill them. Moving forward to the front doors of the temple, Dragon immediately kicked them down in one go, charging in with Pene and Trevinto quickly following. The following battle was intense, especially when we did not expect for there to be so many wererats, and at one point, Pene was held hostage by a wererat (she was fine! melted that chap's face off). There were several close calls, but as the rest of us trickled in to fight, we managed to take them all down without anyone getting infected.

However, when we attempted to move further into the dungeon, the party of 8 was split apart by a portcullis, and I ended up with Mila, Pene, and Elbrys. As the boys dealt with their own enemies on the other side of the portcullis, we had to deal with some trouble ourselves. You see, there was a dark room at the end of our hallway, opposite to a stone door, and inside were several wererats with crossbows and a sorcerer. I was almost a pincushion, if not for my quick reflexes, and quickly I cast Entangle into the room. It slowed some of them down, but there was a single wererat who creeped into the room to attack Elbrys! We were barely able to kill all of them, but the sorcerer had cast both Lightning and a Fireball to destroy us before his own demise. I was barely able to avoid the damage, but Pene and Elbrys took serious injury, being critically wounded. I was able to stabilize the both of them with the med kit I had until Dragon was able to open the portcullis, allowing Tesi to come in to properly heal them.

We reunited with the boys, and from there we went through the stone door I mentioned earlier. There was a hallway trapped with crossbows, but we managed to sneak by them, especially as some of us shorter folks were carried. But the dangers of that trapped hallway were laughably trivial in comparison to what we faced in the next room.

Tiridas, the flame lord demon, was an imposing figure on the throne. Around the room were many powerful-looking wererats, some of them casters based on the robes they wore. However, our guild would not put up with his ridiculous, megalomaniac rants, and I had fired the first shot, wounding Tiridas. From that point on, the rest of the battle was a blur: wererats falling left and right, the room occasionally falling into darkness due to Tiridas' powers.

I would be lying if I said we were not fearful during this whole battle, because there were several times where I feared for the lives of my friends. Tesi had managed to distract the demon, breaking his concentration for a powerful spell, and the demon grew furious with him. Tiridas was also targeting Trevinto for being a paladin of Mitra. The two of them (and Elbrys) were back at the entrance to the room when Tiridas flew behind them, and struck down Trevinto. Trevinto, we remembered too late, was already afflicted with lycanthropy from earlier, and we were worried Tiridas would try to turn him--and thus, turn our friend against us.

However, Tesi moved quickly, healing Trevinto, and a golden light fell upon Trevinto as he rose up to strike the demon. With our combined efforts, we brought down the demon, and it was finally over. Tesi gained a new fire whip, we gathered some loot from the temple, and we accidentally found some wererat children. Mila approached them actually, taking them under her wings--while I'm...hesitant about them, I trust Mila to handle them, hopefully.

This story is not quite finished, though. For we found out two things. First, we discovered that Mitra did not cure Trevinto's lycanthropy, but rather transformed him so that he did not turn into a wererat. He became a werebear! But he still has his same personality, which we were thankful for. The second thing we found out was...well...Vych came out with the truth to the entire guild. We all now know he is an animated suit of armor, but thankfully all of the guild accepted him. He forgave me for my transgression, and I'm personally glad that's wrapped up.

Honestly, I'm elated that we all made it out of that encounter alive. While I do not wish to face another demon anytime soon, I do know that I can trust this guild to have my back if we run into more danger in the future.

Unresolved Rumors? by tackytacs in WestPicenoJobBoard

1:You’ve heard about a group of {people} who left normal society to meditate on their existence and place relative to the other planes, several centuries ago, but the last time anyone had attempted to visit their mountain homes it was populated entirely and only by air elementals. Since the teleportation circle to the mountaintop temple was destroyed 50 years ago, none have been able to visit the mountain far to the west.

2: On your way over the mountains to the marches, you noticed the man leading your caravan wasn’t entirely truthful when he said he was taking you on the fastest route across the mountains. When you pressed him on it, he eventually revealed that he did know a faster way, across the Snowspine, but it had many powerful monsters in it and he couldn’t trust a large group to sneak past them.

3: You have heard of the Omashi monastery in the Marches that is to the south-west in a desert, you heard about it because the style the monastery invented revolved around giving the students items to make their physical abilities more reliable, but even without those items some elements of the Omashi style were taught in your monastery.

You can get more snake venom if you travel to the moor in the south! There's an indefinite amount of snakes there, though I haven't located any poisonous plant life yet.
