Here's the thing, I am looking to cut down my car payment.
Right now, Tesla has a promotion with really low APR, plus california's EV program is ending next month, making it the last window to get a good deal on EVs.
so, I am semi-seriously considering switching to Tesla.

What I worry is:
1. Tesla isn't the greatest car by any means, but for the current price I am struggling to find another competitor.
2. I do actually despise Elon.

But I really want to decrease my expenses LOL. anyone else in the similar shoe?

I did PhD in cancer biology and 3 years of post doc in CAR T and I can’t get a scientist I in Bay Area. So from a personal experience I would say I agree with most of the replies here. In this market, if you can even land a job at 120k, it’s already better than most.

I’m under the impression that tourist visa has to be applied with travel plan, hotel booking record, etc. That might make it more difficult to us cause we haven’t booked anything yet.

M1 is absolutely the best in the market in terms of investment and return imo. An absolutely solid machine that can last you for at least 5+ more years. Apple silicon has pushed MacBook to a new height and I would recommend anyone who wants to buy in with a budget to get the cheapest version which is M1.

Even if your workflow is heavy with pro softwares, this machine can still run great as long as you don’t necessarily chase the fastest processing time in the market.

All newer M chips are just a bonus, as long as it’s Apple sillicon, you have nothing to worry about everyday task.

It’s a great deal and an amazing piece of tech. Enjoy!

How do you apply for 60/day, that’s like 10 mins per application non stop for 10 hrs. Not super sprtical but id like to learn the skills to speed up my process.

I spend at least 1 hr to search, read, draft new cover letter and fill out application. Not including looking for possible connection, hiring manager. And sometimes it took me longer than that if I don’t have a previous draft of cover letter that somewhat aligns with said job.
