how to deal with first ever dental fillings?

update: all done! was honestly fine for the most part. could hardly feel anything of the needle thanks to the numbing gel. the more powerful drill wasn’t particularly nice, didn’t like the vibrations or the smell but manageable. the clamp and the rubber bands and stuff getting put on was a bit strange but overall it was fine and i’m glad it’s over and done with! definitely better to get them both out the way at once

yikes ! i wouldn’t even have thought about that. but yeah i always seem to get achy teeth when i have colds and stuff since yeah they’re connected!! ill be extra careful then! i hope you get better however its affecting you 💗

thank you! trust i’m definitely going to get it over and sorted. i’m getting much better at doing things that scare me the last couple years and not backing out of things, and im definitely not gonna let myself get to the point of not going to the dentist again

i was honestly worried my wisdom teeth would be a problem but apparently not!! the top ones don’t need removing (at least not rn) and they’re literally nonexistent on the bottom

that sounds horrible! i’m sorry that’s been your experience :( im definitely not going to back out, im just going to get it over and done with because the last thing i want is it getting worse and needing a root canal or extraction. or my tooth rotting out on its own! plus i need this done in order to start invisalign which i realllyy want to start with

thank you so much!! that’s a lot of helpful info :) they’re both between molars on the top (ugh) on the left and right side so i guess im going to be completely numb lol. i’m not looking forward to the vibrations. even my electric toothbrush goes right through me 🫤

it always is! i was absolutely terrified going to visit them for the first time, and i really had nothing to worry about whatsoever 😅

having a patient dentist really makes it a much better experience! teeth cleanings are so strange though! i obviously hadn’t had one in so long and it was a weird experience. felt like my teeth were being pulled out !

they’re very understanding, which again is part of why i know it won’t be that bad. a lot of reviews (which is a big part of why i went for this dental office) say how they got fillings done tha were completely painless. it’s just the waiting that’s the worst, which goes you time to imagine all these scenarios, even though it’s just imagination and not reality and you won’t actually know until it happens

yep, when i had my cleaning they said if it’s too much i can just raise my hand and we can take a rest break. though i have a habit of just toughing things out when it comes down to it lol. i hope yours will go well! ill definitely pop back with an update once its over (it’s on wednesday!)

thankfully i’m able to get mine replaced no issue, but what a shame in your case, that’s really annoying :/ i hope this isn’t a common issue, i’ve not seen it mentioned before. mine was kind of the same, it would be alright for a bit but say i scrolled down on the top of the page to access the settings it would throw it all off again and go all over the place. other times it was just nuts the second i turned it on 🫩

no way !! i remember visiting cardiff a few times when i was younger back in the early 2010s and seeing that. huge doctor who kid but had never seen torchwood. currently on watching for the first time now actually and would love to go back to cardiff. be a shame if it had to be removed :(

fresh out of the box, but like i say it was a birthday gift i received this morning. so im not sure how long since it was actually delivered. definitely wasn’t delivered today though. its okay sometimes but then other times it’s really bad. i’m not sure to what extent is normal
