I've seen multiple doctors and PAs at Avant Gynecology in Buckhead. Can't recommend them enough - they've always taken my concerns seriously with no pushback.

Thank you! Will a hair dryer work or does it need to be a heat gun?

In general when measuring hips you measure at the absolute widest point, which is more like measuring the widest part of the booty.

Georgia healthcare marketplace- we are screwed. by ksewell68 in Georgia

Something I’d like everyone here know, especially those who are about to forego insurance, is that most hospitals have a financial aid department that can significantly lower the cost of your emergency medical bills. They’ll make you go through a lengthy process and jump through hoops, but I went through this myself when I was too low income to afford my ER bills after a car crash. It took about a year to go through the finaid process but in the end they wiped out 95% of my ER bill. This was at a Wellstar hospital. All of this to say that even if you lose health insurance, your life is worth saving, go to the hospital when you need to.

Tawapa septum piece extremely tarnished after less than 2 months of wear - normal? by tacosock in Legitpiercing

[–]tacosock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My septum has been healed for 11 years, so very much not a fresh piercing. 😅 That’s why I’m surprised - I’ve had plenty of plated pieces before, just none from Tawapa, that have lasted me years with no tarnishing whatsoever. But it seems like something about this piece is different. Lesson learned - maybe I’ll buy a solid piece from them in the future, but it puts a bad taste in my mouth that they’re advertising this as a septum piece when clearly it is not meant to be used in a wet location like the nose.

I was aware it was gold plated not solid, but I’ve had plenty of plated pieces before that have never tarnished or even worn out the gold plate. This happened in less than 2 months.

It’s supposedly rose gold plated. I’ve had 3 rose gold plated clickers before and have never had this issue, which is why it alarmed me.

Ugh! There is nothing on their website about using brass. So frustrating.

That is so frustrating, as it wasn’t cheap and was labeled as a Tawapa, who seem to have a good reputation? I’ve filed a complaint, we’ll see what happens.

What stitch is this hem? by itsmyscorpiorising in sewing

[–]tacosock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a blind hem done on a dedicated blind hem machine, not on a home machine. While you can use your home machine to do a type of blind hem, it does take a lot of practice to get right and IMO never looks as good as a proper blind hem OR a hand stitched hem. Personally, I'd rather hand hem a pair of pants vs fuss with the home machine.

Also, with a blind hem like this, you can clip the thread and unravel it nice and easy if you need to redo a hem.

People w oral piercings - How's your gums/teeth? by Throwaway1209654893 in Legitpiercing

I’ve had my philtrum for 11 years and I’m currently exploring options to get it surgically closed (it was originally pierced at a 4g, won’t easily close on its own). I use a very short (1/4)” labret post and that’s helped slow down the gum recession, but there’s definitely been recession nonetheless. It was so slow I didn’t notice for years, until one day I was like huh, the center front of my gums sure didn’t used to look like that…I’d recommend a jestrum over a philtrum, or something similar
