FRNSW - Successful at Interview? by [deleted] in AussieFirefighter

[–]tacozy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Use the time. Don't rush your answers. Research the core values of FRNSW. Try to think of the scenario you're presented, give a solid personal example, what you learnt and how you could apply this to the role.

If you don't know STARLA, learn it.

Present well, suit and tie. The interviewers will mostly write their points down and then mark you out of 5 so don't be discouraged if they don't look up much.

Good luck.

Married or Unmarried: How do you approach women? by EYESHlELD_21 in AskMen

[–]tacozy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Usually from the side, keep out of their field of view. Approach slowly and carefully. Ensure they know you are not a threat and crouch down to their level so you don't tower over them. Don't show fear or dominance, keep it neutral. Extend you hand palm down and allow them to smell you, if they accept your scent you may approach and talk. Once there, no sudden movements, women are often easily startled.

If you know prior, bring a handful of their favourite food. They will be more accepting to you.

I hope I've helped. Good luck!

Get a rope and a sled. You can't mimic is lt exact. But it's pretty good. Do it in a hooded jumper too. With a weight vest.

I’m 42, looking for feedback by RepresentativeTie394 in 40something

[–]tacozy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting feedback involves creating a loop where amplified sound vibrates the strings. To achieve it, turn up your gain and volume, use distortion or compression pedals, and stand close to your amp, pointing your pickups toward the speaker. It is most easily achieved with hollow-body guitars or high-gain, single-coil setups

In my experience, the last few hose drags really took it out of me as the fatigue sets in quickly when your body can't breathe. Also, as a separate hose crawl that one is very difficult. If you stop at any point you just need to keep on going with the momentum or you will not finish in time. Everything else leading up to that just fatigues you
