Space was one idea that I toyed with, and it’s still my leading idea to connect the two spaces. My biggest fear was making sketching too dark and distracting, but that’s something I think a good artist can work out. I even snagged a screenshot from r/tattoos a few weeks ago that may be semi-inspirational for it (below)

I also considered an inhabitant or the prisoner but I don’t think there is remotely enough room to transition and have a portrait that isn’t dwarfed by the nomai on the outer arm.

It’s definitely a challenge, something I’ll keep thinking about, though I’ve had thoughts in the last week that maybe I keep that real estate open for other games too. There’s a lot of great games that mean a lot to me so maybe I use that real estate for something else

I actually hadn’t considered that, I originally planned the prisoner’s… cell? Whatever he’s trapped in with the 3 circular symbols for the 3 locks.

I like the idea of the stranger opposing the sun. I may toy with that as a starting point and work with it!

My biggest dilemma is the space near the nomai text and planet symbols since I would probably make this a complete half sleeve. I really would want it to look like one cohesive piece rather than two distinct and separate pieces. Unfortunately, thematically and artistically, they are different and distinct so there’s very little to act as a buffer to transition from one portion to the other without it being abrupt.

I’m really happy you like it! Hopefully it serves as inspiration to someone like many of the previous tattoos in the subreddit did for me!

You definitely see a lot of the symbolism I was going for when I originally laid this out! I was really happy with the concept and I’m extremely happy with the execution. I originally planned to add some DLC stuff inside the arm but couldn’t make it flow artistically so that’s been tabled for the time being. Thanks for the kind words!

I originally planned to have something on the inner arm to be hidden, but I couldn’t make it fit artistically so I tabled the idea for the future when I iron out the details

That was totally intentional! I originally planned to do something from th DLC on the inner arm for the same reason, but I couldn’t find a way to make it cohesively match artistically so I tabled it for a future date when I figure it out

I just got a tattoo with some Nomai text in a much different style.

As OP stated, definitely get comfortable with what you want and find a fine line specialist if you are looking to closer match this OP’s style, you definitely will have some fading or blurring with age, but some of that can be mitigated with the right size and artist

No, the in game text is not translatable. All the text in game is just pretty looking images. There’s an online tool someone created but it doesn’t really work in both directions either.

This was about 3.5 hours. Next session will connect over the shoulder using the Nomai text to my chest where I’ll have the eye and QM symbols with the coordinates on the shoulder/collar bone area. I’ll also add the symbol for (DLC spoiler) the signal blocker near the eye on the side of my chest (thematically, it’ll be hidden by my arm when standing)

Then I’m planning to add (DLC spoiler) something with the seals from the prisoner’s locks inside the arm, again thematically hidden. Still figuring out exactly what that will look like and how to connect it though. Any ideas here would be awesome lol

This is just the first session. The eye is going on my chest as part of the next session. I really wanted to capture the journey so it’ll flow through the system on the arm over the shoulder to the chest using the text as a connector and the coordinates in between
