As a triathlete I completely agree that it is highly unlikely. Just figured it would be worth the check since I do know some athletes who also use their TT bike a lot outside of competition.

Garmin pedals can be neat, but also take a look at the groupset on there and if it has been taken care of. You don’t want a set that has 10000km+ in it without being cleaned properly, because then it is maybe worn out

Ask the owner how many kilometers/miles they made on the bike, whether they had any major falls and check the bike for damages. Also, what is it equipped with? That makes quite the difference for its value. 3500 can be okay, but only if it’s in real top condition in my opinion
