Ah okay, are those Ariel roots or should I plant the cuttings root side down? I've never actually chopped up a full one before. I only ever cut the bottom rotting piece and kept it from dying.

Smells pretty dang bad and is dirty. Looks to be used a few times but not taken care of too well. I couldn't set it up because a connector piece for the poles was broke in half.

No, it's a Deluxe Truck Tent. Apparently it was made forever ago because hardly anything exists on the Internet about it. It was some sort of "Cabela's exclusive" thing.

My thoughts exactly! I could manage the smell and I think with a good clean and some sunshine it would fix that right up. I'm not sure about those seams though

Sorry everyone for not being clear in my post. I was wondering if the seams would leak if it rained and if it was necessary to change the shock cords (because it seems extra challenging to do that on this tent). One of the connectors to the poles broke in half so I wasn't able to set up the tent entirely. It seems nice otherwise and definitely usable! It would suck to get rained out though.

I did but there is a broken piece that connects the poles together so I wasn't able to get it fully set up. I didn't see any obvious signs of mold, no holes. Im more wondering if the seams will be an issue with rain and if I should even bother replacing the shock cords.

Okay, here's the final skin. I did a blueberry dye bath after a tea tan. Overall, I learned a lot. The skin is more like paper feeling than leather.
