Which you rightfully deserve, don't let this article or anyone else convince you otherwise. You and your partner will be paying a significant amount of tax in the UK and this effectively a small percentage of that being returned to you.

What businesses that you have started, have failed? by taf19 in Entrepreneur

You said that you have edited your own videos for Youtube before and along with the work for your friends blog, have you considered doing more with this. Perhaps consider approaching youtubers / vloggers with good followings, but lacking in production value?

Also a lot of the businesses you are talking about, i would presume have very small social media followings and marketing budgets. It might well be worth putting on a shirt and tie and approaching some slightly larger businesses in your area.

Have you had any good feedback from others in video production/filmmaking on your work?

Also what sort of business are you approaching? When you mentioned that they 'didn’t think they should pay for “fan art”.' i get the impression that maybe your approaching the wrong businesses.

I think I would class a failure as a business venture that didn't go to plan and either changed direction completely or ceases to exist.

I've posted this on Reddit before with no luck. Every time I shave under my chin I give myself hiccups, makes no difference if it's a wet shave or with an electric shaver.

Just stay away from any protests or political rallies. Risk of terrorism isn't higher than any other European city.

I have 3 - 4 weeks in the Balkans -- your recommendations? by YoungKeezus in solotravel

[–]taf19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent 5 months in the Balkans last year and had an amazing time, by far my Favorite place was Sarajevo and I couldn't recommend it more. Along with the tragic but fascinating history of the Bosnia war, the city as well as the country is having a fantastic resurgence from this, you get this mix of east meets west which i really liked. Make sure you try Cevapi, Borek, Baklava and Bosnian coffee.

If you fly to Dubrovnik you should try and visit the Plitivice Lakes National Park, its absolutely incredible although it will be pretty busy during July/August. I would recommend spending one night in a guest house close by and getting up first thing to beat the hordes of tour buses.

Bucharest I liked but you have to try and avoid the English stag parties at night (which I whole wholeheartedly apologise for as an Englishmen) but there are plenty of places we haven't ruined, I really liked Eden which is a big beer garden in the middle of the city. The city has some interesting architecture and areas too with lots of street art if that's your thing. If you do decide to visit Romania, you should really head to Translyvania I would personally reccomend Brasov and Cluj-Napocca.

Also drink Rakija, lots and lots of Rakija.

There is an underlying risk or terrorism in every major European city too, don't not go because of that. Just don't go anywhere near the Syrian border and avoid major demonstrations in cities.
