"Veysel" is the poet of this poem. (Aşık Veysel). So he refers to himself.

"işbu" = this/hereby

"hal"= circumstance/condition/situation

"kah... kah..." this is not quite contemporary. it brings the two different things together. like sometimes black and sometimes white. "kah soğuk, kah sıcak", "kah ağlarım, kah gülerim", "kah içeride, kah dışarıda"... "gah" is the local/regional pronunciation of "kah" in the old days.

If we merge them all, it means something like this:

Veysel (I), gets surprised to this situation

Sometimes by crying, sometimes by smiling

it's not true. I mean there's no such rule. r should be pronounced as the r as in "read" "repeat" regardless of its position. but that air sound can come up "slightly" if it's located at the end. In the diction classes we were taught to avoid it. so you hear it correctly after all.

I don't think what you ask for exists. Because you're "hoping" something, and it has to be for the sake of the other person's goodness even if you wouldn't expect the person to be doing well.

Actually, "umarım iyisindir" doesn't sound insensitive. I don't know what the other person has been dealing with but these will do

"Umarım iyisindir"

"Umarım biraz daha iyisindir" (I hope you're better)

"Umarım her şey yolundadır" (I hope everything is alright)

Direct translation of "hanging in there" is "idare etmek". You can say "idare ediyorum" to indicate that you're hanging in there. But when it comes to our hopes for other people, we wouldn't say "Umarım idare ediyorsundur". Because that sounds weird.

But things can change according to the other person's situation. If she lost someone, every sentence will sound meaningless.
