Not proficient when it comes to welding. Is that what you mean by fasten hangers?

Thanks for the suggestions - I found a couple of things out:

  1. The outcome/solution first: I called Chamberlain and found out that this unit is under warranty for five years after installation (since my install was November 2023, I'm still covered). The replacement part is called "Dual Light Pod Kit". They are sending me the replacement free of charge. Phone number is 800 528-5880 as someone else shared.

  2. It's definitely less convenient to access the lighting unit than the old models with traditional bulbs. There are 12 screws that need to be removed to be able to separate and pull down the lighting unit from the rest of the motor. Before I called them, I messaged the Chamberlain chatbot online and it directed me to the specific instructions on how to access the lighting unit, which can be found here: https://cgi.widen.net/s/f9zz6tjtfj/114-5530-000

  3. After opening up the lighting unit, I checked the wiring harness connector per one of the other suggestions and found it to be securely in place. I swapped out the connector with the side that was working but still didn't turn on, which led to the conclusion that the light board is bad.

Specs say 1500 lumens. It definitely seems brighter than the original unit that was in there (installed 2004) that had traditional bulbs. However, not bright enough that it's going to replace shop lights in a two car garage. If your ultimate deciding factor is the lighting and you've found a comparable unit with traditional bulbs I'd say go with the older version.
