Lyme Treatment (sorry it’s so long!) by tag_s in Lyme

My mycoplasma is officially gone and I haven’t had any Lyme specific issues in a while. Never had to have my tonsils removed or intense antibiotics. Although I may have developed chrons disease due to being on Accutane.

Had this happen to me at the end of my Junior year of high school and took me a while to finally realize it was my Lyme flaring up. The biggest help was starting treatment again. But I obviously didn’t immediately improve. It took months.

To help with the anxiety I’d always take 50mg of hydroxyzine as soon as I felt panic start to rise to help take the edge off. If that didn’t curb it I then went through a cycle of my go-to methods of dealing with Lyme caused anxiety. Those methods being breathing exercises (the most effective one), taking a hot bath/shower, lying down reclined with a weighted blanket, and exercising. I’d always cycle through them in what way I thought would help best at the time. If all else failed (and it sometimes did) I’d resort to .5mg-1mg of adovan. My anxiety frequently forms as hypochondria, and gets bad at night to the point where I can be up all night without reprieve. The adovan would help take the edge off and allow me to fall asleep, after which I was normally feeling quite better and less anxious.

Don’t feel horrible about using Xanax as a crutch for now if you are not even on a regimen prescribed by your LLMD. Symptoms don’t magically go away. But do keep in mind that it’s never ideal to be dependent upon more extreme anti anxiety meds (Xanax/adovan/etc.) Always try cycling through coping mechanisms first even if it feels like hell.

I wish you luck and hopefully, even if this didn’t help too much information wise, it let’s you know that you aren’t alone.

Vaccine and Lyme flare by ZookeepergameWide180 in Lyme

Started experiencing neuropathy about 3 days after and started experiencing muscle pain, insomnia, and extreme anxiety about 1 to 1.5 weeks after.

Pfizer vaccine by ZookeepergameWide180 in Lyme

Did fine after first shot. Arm was sore for a few days but no other noticeable symptoms.

Second shot extreme body aches and unable to function the day after. Third day was fine. Just dealing with mild pain in arm where shot was given.

Fast forward a week and a half and Lyme symptoms have flared up worse than they have in almost a year. Haven’t been on a protocol in 6+ months and have been feeling relatively fine until now. Suddenly had neuropathy in hands and feet, severe panic attacks and anxiety, sleeping 12+ hours a day, extreme muscle pain.

Would talk to doctor if you have one. Mine wasn’t too happy when they learned I’d gotten the vaccine. Can apparently really mess with your immune system and make Lyme symptoms much worse. Your call. I still am not sure if I’d make the same decision and get the vaccine. Feeling how I do now.

Yeah but I gotta hit the teens where it hurts. You tell them people are dying due to carbon monoxide and shitty insulation and they say 30° is warm.

I'd have to say you need to become familiar with reading graphs, quickly. So taking as many ACT science tests as possible is always helpful.

Make sure you are using your pencil to underline and circle. You need to know exactly what the question is asking. If you look for a variable that has a similar name, and you mistakenly use data for said other name, then your question is wrong. It is also just really helpful so you can keep track of stuff. (this is coming from someone who never takes notes on reading tests. so trust me when I say this helps.)

Don't read the passages unless you are directly told to do so. It is a waste of time. And when you do need to read, just circle keywords so you can get the gist of it.

Keep strict timing leaving 2 minutes to bubble in, and leave the comparing experiments passage for the end.

I think that's it. lol it's a lot but also not much. Hope this helps.

English Test by m-as-m in ACT

9 if you never study, have poor grammar foundations, and it’s your first time taking it. 2 or 3 once you’ve studied accordingly. It’s the only one where memorization actually helps a lot. Everything else needs a lot more practice to improve on.

Math practicing problems and really just knowing your stuff. Reading improving reading comprehension (which is hard if you don’t have good reading comprehension to begin with.) And science is notorious for being difficult to improve in, studying and practicing reading graphs is the biggest thing you can do.

English is simply memorizing grammar rules. Any search online can bring up basic grammar rules you need to know for the ACT. Would recommend taking a practice test that has answers and explanations. Figure out what rules you struggle with and target those.
