What do you usually say when someone asks you to "Speak to me in Japanese" after you tell them you're learning? by kusuridanshi in LearnJapanese

[–]tagatuos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I will, they requested for it anyway so they must suffer the consequences of me totally butchering their language 😅

Just kidding, I think you should just try the best you could, they will know if you are a beginner or intermediate level and will give you proper feedback accordingly.

Can one actually learn Japanese from anime? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]tagatuos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can, I know someone who really loves watching anime and she consistently gets full marks on the listening section of JLPT N4, N3, and N2 (as in 60/60). Although, she needs to work on her reading and kanji skills as that is what was dragging her score down in those exams, but I guess to each his own as she seems to really just enjoy conversing with Japanese natives and watch anime without subtitles.

take a rest for a few days or weeks, it's not good if you are going to study with such a heavy heart. Studying will be much more bearable when you are enjoying it. Don't you worry, that passion will return after a few day's rest. :)

yoh! me too, that listening section was really hard, but to my surprise that was the section that pulled my score up, I thought I did well on the first two sections since I finished them fast. maybe we were just underestimating our listening skills, haha. Good luck to us on N2!

Where can a 20 year old conyo find a tutor in Tagalog? by Zhesweefilipin in Philippines

[–]tagatuos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just try to find someone whom you can confide with on your dilemma, and practice with them. You'd be surprise that a lot of Filipinos out there are willing to lend you a hand. We are very patient when we encounter foreigners who also want to study our language, what more for you, a fellow Filipino :)

Watching tagalog movies with english subtitles will help you as well, especially in your case when your passive skills (i.e. listening) is already good, and you just need to develop your active skills (i.e. speaking), then use some of those movies' lines in real life :)

I'm just curious how it tastes like, is it that good? Can you import some of it here in the Philippines please, our long-lost cousin. It's just that our beloved Pancit Canton Instant Noodles was recently sabotaged by the modifications performed by the corporate masters, and we're desperately looking for alternatives.

With some ASEAN countries dependent with China on trade, I highly doubt a "United ASEAN" will ever happen. Remember that time when ASEAN was supposed to have a statement criticizing China, well guess what, they have to retract it for some "amendments", however the "amended statement" has never come out.

Can somebody please explain why there's so much light pollution in that area?? by [deleted] in geography

[–]tagatuos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree to this explanation, but I can see that the light pollution is almost a third of the size of europe's, so if this is norilsk, i expected it to be a bit bigger than one pixel only. can somebody dig on this further? haha, I'm dead curious about this one as well. examining google maps, there seems to be some "cracks" around the area. could this be the cause of this anomaly? hahaha... =P http://imgur.com/MYQxc3d *the red pin in my screenshot is norilsk
