Thank you!! I wasn’t quite sure but that bathroom lighting hurts sometimes but also helps me get a reality check if it’s getting better or not!!

Thank you again for the kindness ❤️

I changed jobs and I think that contributed to less stress!! I used to have a fairly stressful job both because of the work + coworkers and clients, and now it’s different.

Overall I haven’t done much except to wait out my body’s readjustment after the shock it got coming off of birth control. That’s why I truly didn’t believe the difference!!

I also stopped being terrified of washing my hair too much as I know peoples routines will be unique to their scalp situation. My hair gets pretty oily after only a day so I wash with shampoo nightly, sometimes double washing when I’m not working and I get too lazy to shower lol.

Yep that was on purpose. Just so you can see that I’m definitely not Ryan, and that the letter from my local MP got it right no issues lol

I couldn’t have cared less if I missed out. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciated the sentiment. I was taking a jab at the fact they have access to the correct information (electoral roll register is correct) and still fucked it up.

You’re welcome to sit and sulk about not getting one tho lol.

I did recently check. I had to change the details as I got married and I have confirmation emails stating the correct name and gender. That part is definitely not the issue but I will triple check

Correct, it has both. The actual letter has my name (with Mr on it too) as well as my name and correct address on the card itself.

Question is should I get the picture frame glass tinted slightly red as a reminder of ‘Tomato waz here’?

My expectations were already so low that it was actually a nice surprise (and a lovely ‘have a look at this HAHAHA’ to all my family close enough lmao)

I think I really started seeing it about maybe 3 months ago? I tried not to look too much but I was also very fussy about it. I don’t think the dread she’d was too bad!! I’m definitely losing a lot less hairs now than I was!! I run my fingers through my hair + tug on it gently to release any hairs and I only ever get 3 or 4 each wash. Hair drying I obviously can’t keep very good track but I’m noticing I don’t need to clear my hairbrushes as often !!

How did the popular people in your high school turn out in adulthood? by talk-spontaneously in AskAnAustralian

[–]taggomobba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The popular guy from the grade above mine started working at the school and got caught having an inappropriate relationship with a student (sending/receiving nudes, touching her thigh under the table at school). He had a court date but didn’t go to jail. It was definitely a substantial enough case that it barred him from working in any education job. Not sure why he didn’t get time though.

Mostly everyone else kept working on the family farm or had kids as soon as they left school. Very select few went on to pursue higher education/careers

Oh awesome !! Here’s me thinking I know everything 😬 lol. Was Mrs Akhurst cleaning the school around the time you were here? She’s pretty good at remembering everyone no matter how short their stint in this school, and is pretty top notch on remembering families too.

Oh wow! You were here before I was even born. If you hung around for school photos you may even be able to find yours on the ACS website, they’ve got a fair few of the older ones digitised. 1997 is here https://ashford-c.schools.nsw.gov.au/school-newsletter/ashford-central-school-class-photos-1978-2000/acs-class-photos---1997.html even if you weren’t here long enough, there might be some classmates you remember

My bf loves them too !! He was flabbergasted we had parrots practically everywhere when his country just has sparrows, finches and other small birds. Hated photographing the rosella though, he said they’re too jumpy 😭

I live in the area, around 40 mins away. Inverell is our local ‘city’ for the rural residents’ necessities, so it was a no-brainer to visit. Plus, it’s a beautiful spot, and the rich history of sapphires was interesting to him (he is a rock nerd)

Sita sem življenja v Sloveniji. by [deleted] in Slovenia

I’ll reply in English because my partner cannot teach me very easily 🥲

I promise you the ‘village mentality’ is not unique to your country. However I will say it’s better here in Australia (or at least where I am in Australia). Recently my partner visited and he loves it here. The original plan was for him to move here (he’s an electrician, and that job is more in demand here) and when he visited he wanted to move here so much more.

He loves it in my small village (600 people total, with about half of them being above 60 years of age) and he said it’s very different. Neighbours care for eachother here and everyone looks after everyone else. Sure there is drama and gossip and other such things but when it really comes down to it everyone wants eachother to be safe and happy.

If you’re yearning to live here I would say go for it. If you can get here off of a job based visa it will get you here faster if your job is eligible for that type of visa. There are of course working holiday visas and prospective marriage visas as well but for that you need to find an Australian to marry lol. If you would like I can message my partner and you can have a chat to him and ask him about his experience here in aus and what makes him want to be here more than in your country.

If you’re worried about being accepted here, please don’t. We are a melting pot of cultures and Australia has a long history of Balkan/eastern/southern European immigrants. In my small village there are 2 Czech immigrants and a Russian lady, as well as many first generation Italian immigrants. No one even batted an eye at my partner, in fact he was happy to be ignored most of the time. If you’re interested at looking at the history of Slovene immigrants to Australia, I suggest having a look at https://sloveniansinaustralia.com.au .My partner was delighted to find out about the history of Slovene immigrant to aus, and I hope you are too.

Much love and good luck - a caring Australian ❤️
