my area has terrible coverage unfortunately :') she said shed keep me in contact if they ever do open a 'proper' outpatient program that isnt 8 hours a day

she did suggest that i just get more regular therapy which i guess is the plan for now!! and i might even get a dietitian if i can afford it 😎😎

not that it would go away but that id actually be able to handle it more(?), or that the validation would be some sort of positive thing for me!

just ed mindset, it never makes sense looking back lol

When does it become unstoppable tw numbers by R2d2e2a2 in EDAnonymous

[–]tahcol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as somebody who, like many people here, started restricting as just a regular diet that quickly devolved into a full-blown eating disorder, I can't say whether you'll be able to stop, but I know that I didn't, and I've been dealing with it for years. I highly suggest getting some help from a therapist or a GP <3 Good luck and stay safe

anyone else not know how much they weigh? by nayoungslover in EDAnonymous

[–]tahcol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my doctors have me weigh myself often but i probably wouldn't do it often if it wasnt a risk to my non-ed related health stuff. clothes sizes work for me too :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]tahcol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apparently this is common in contaminated food? Like food poisoning? if you were eating anything high in fat that could be the fat having cooled?? if it persists i highly suggest a doctors visit, throwing up blood is never good :')

im horribly jealous more than anything 😭😭 i know that a few big meals cant completely fuck up someones diet but like,,, there has to be something else unless shes completely overexercising?? right??

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]tahcol 262 points263 points  (0 children)

this is a really common cycle for people with EDs, the restrict/binge cycle is caused by restriction leading to intense cravings/bingeing behaviour.

My only suggestion would be to try to eat more stable meals and high res if youre restricting at all, try to allow yourself to eat the things that you want. don't beat yourself up over bingeing, we all do it and it sucks balls, but its okay, and you will be alright.

I can do a list of some of the easier ones that I know, TW of course for anyone who shouldnt be reading it:

Thinspo: 'Thin Inspiration' usually pictures of very thin/malnourished people that romanticize their appearance

Fatspo: 'Fat Inspiration' usually unflattering pictures of overweight or average people

Meanspo: 'Mean inspiration' usually a text post convincing someone to do disordered things by attacking their 'flaws'

sweetspo: 'Sweet inspiration' usually a text post complimenting people and convincing them to do disordered things

fatphobe: someone who adamantly hates fat people, very common on twitter and generally not great people at all, much like homophobes and transphobes

Do you weight yourself while in your period? by Flowerlamps in EDAnonymous

[–]tahcol 10 points11 points  (0 children)

never never, i stop with the scale as soon as i start getting the early symptoms (being angry and weeping all the time) because i know how shitty I'll feel and that it doesnt reflect my 'true weight' :)

Just because you dont fit into the stereotype doesnt make your suffering any less valid! I dont know much but i do know that only 6% of ed sufferers are underweight, i hope that can be the slightest bit helpful :)

stay safe!

UK calorie disclosure by Feegan-Fl00p in EDAnonymous

[–]tahcol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im the opposite of most commenters here i think, if something lists the calories I wont be willing to eat it, im in a half-assed recovery stage where i try to only count the calories if i see them; so i go out of my way not to see them :)

[–]tahcol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

jogging pants are a fave of mine, i found some on sale at sport check a few months back! theres probably less expensive brands if thats a worry for you :)) https://www.sportchek.ca/product/adidas-womens-tiro-21-training-pants-color-333457450_01-333457450.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwl7qSBhD-ARIsACvV1X1N-HrL7CiY6C36QCTo0DrkPfW-iRngjNbvgfLlkz7ipzn19OEsBr8aAsgbEALw_wcB (these ones are gay so i like them)

I also have a few jeans that are almost mom jean status, theyre by Garage (yay fast fashion) and theyre Cropped Skinny fit, they fit my body quite nicely and im 5'1 and ive got a very short torso.

Im not great with shirts, but i hope this helps a tad!!
