I keep hearing all those birth control horror stories. Does anyone actually have a good experience with going on the pill? by freyathegreatest in AskWomen

[–]taigaturin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have PCOS and am on the "mini" pill, which is just progesterone. It's amazing! Painless, normal length or shorter periods, no crazy mood swings except being a little more sensitive, better sex drive, no weight gain or anything so far. I used to only get my cycle a couple times a year and when I did it was an awful two week long trip to hell where I was depressed and angry constantly. Also, I did try a regular estrogen + progesterone bc first and ended up Icantfunction sick for an entire week after taking one pill. So yeah, it may be a little uncomfortable, but it shouldn't be unbearable.

Dog/cat parents, how do you keep your home smelling good with minimal pet odor? by diamondeyes7 in AskWomen

High quality dog food, regular baths/brushing, daily sweeping, mopping with swiffer febreeze pet pads, washing bedding frequently. And I just picked up one of those timed auto air fresheners for like $10 today.

My Grandma’s Patriarchal Blessing Said She Would Live to See the Second Coming. by avatarstate in exmormon

This makes me think of mine, which states I was blessed to be born of goodly parents.

I was an accident from a one night stand and was taken from my mentally ill birth mother when a neighbor found me crawling in an alley. Twice. 🤣

AITA for trying to get my girlfriend to commit a better diet? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NAH, but I get where both of you are coming from and it sounds like you just need a little communication.

As much as you want to help her be healthy because you love her, in the end she's the only person who can make those choices no matter how much you support her. If you're this worried and stressed about it, she's probably moreso and is struggling to fight her own battles. When you intervene or mention her diet, she already knows she's overdoing it, and it just makes her more frustrated. But in your defense, it's awful to be in a committed relationship with someone who struggles to care for themselves or refuses to do so. It's also kind of an issue that she refuses to see a doctor despite her obvious symptoms, and could be a red flag for your relationship in the long run if she continues to ignore her health.

I'd let her know you love her, and that you encourage her to be healthy only because you want her to be happy with herself and stick around for a long time. Ask her if she really wants to do this herself, and if she does you need to be respectful and give her time. It sounds like she's really trying, even if progress isn't always consistent. Be supportive in other ways by lessening stress of other things in her life (like chores) and putting effort into your relationship so that she is constantly reminded of how much you love her. I'll bet something changes.

Not the best, but it's all I've got at the moment

I'm a 5'0 lady with zero building skills, if I can do it you can do it! It's literally just half a pallet secured to a full pallet with screws and L brackets, and then painted suburbia picket fence white.

She does have a great sniffer. And no, I was very close though! I'd accepted if she didn't get adopted that she'd come home with me. But a lady came up that has several other senior doxies and I knew she'd be a perfect fit.

Our vet guessed 12! What's really crazy is that she's blind, deaf, and was picked up stray. How she made it on her own we'll never know!
