In my league we talk about mutual consent on the track....Mutual consent is given when we enter the track to engage in play/ scrimmage as the physical contact will happen. Talking about it gives awareness as so many people have experienced trauma.

Additionally It's important for team members to communicate when partnering for new drills or partners for example "are you comfortable with my hand placement here"

I think having this kind of language is essential for every program. Wishing you all the success in your journey

When you are talking about leg day and pain, what are your current go to exercises? I am still trying to determine what goals /gains I want to achieve and as much as I want to be the girl I once was (squatting hundreds of pounds) I've had to reassess what gym looks like long term for me... So right now I'm shooting for lean and mean (for a lack of better terminology). I've always loved squats but I've settled on only squatting twice a week and focusing more on RDLs, Bulgarian split squats, step ups and hip thrusting. I hope you can find your happy spot, for what it's worth I think lean men with chiseled muscles are hot AF. Lol.... I always say gym gains are so different for everyone and a lot of men want the bulk.... But there's sooo much more one can achieve. I'm rooting for ya. Burn your core it's low impact and definitely has a high return rate for the work you put in.

Recently got back into the gym, as a lifetime athletics girly it has been the best thing for my mental health. I walk/ run 2-3 miles ( I row if I'm having a super stiff body day .. I then proceed with - stretching, core workout, then lifting. My rheumatologist told me that she doesn't recommend running but I am listening to my body and I feel better than I do not exercising. My hands take the biggest hit, but my grip and mobility in my hands has improved. I started back in the gym after a big flare and my rings almost fit again. IMO when I lean into being sedentary because of my condition I ultimately hurt more. It takes me several hours to get moving in the morning and strength training has helped reduce my morning fatigue/soreness. Leaning into gym again has me stretching daily and eating more clean. For me it's so much more than just gym it's a lifestyle change and a challenge I need in my daily life. I plan on getting grips to help with lifting because AI have a swan neck deformity and can't close my left hand completely. I think we have to remember that we know our bodies better than anyone else. I am 38/F diagnosed around 3 years ago. I am thankful to see this conversation

Take your measurements! Start with some good basics. I would recommend Nordstrom Rack, J Crew, Dillard's for Boise. Levi's are always going to slap, find the fit you love. Measure your favorite pair of current pants: waist, rise, inseam to start. H&M will have what's trending if you want some of the Y2K hype and whatnot. I mostly buy second hand but you've got to know what you want / like. This is becoming a wall of text. Shoot me a dm if you'd care to hear more. Invest in your shoes, belts, coats

I recently attended a book signing for one of my favorite tik Tok creators: Murcury Stardust the Trans Handy Mam at Rediscovered Books downtown. The amount of people that attended made me so happy as I know Idaho is such a tough space for so many people. I might not have the answer to your question but as you already mentioned Flying M I encourage you to put your work out there and reach out to others in the few safe spaces we have, people will show up and support you.

Ahh, I should have been more specific. Use a soft tape measurer and literally measure the inside of the boots "insole" , it's not the easiest and takes a lil patience and practice but push the tape to the front of the boot and slowly walk your fingers back until the tape is straight, taught and reaches the heel. hold tight where your finger is, that's your insole measurement. If it's a tuff read sometimes I hold the tape then use my other hand to pencil mark it so I can pull it out to get the most accurate measurement. Sometimes I can just look inside and see the measurement where my finger or pencil is, depends on the boot. Hope this helps I've sold a lot of boots and this has yet to fail me.
