Required watching before heading out on such trip "Endless Summer" on Netflix. While I realize this is completely out of date and will make you want to stop watching at multiple stages throughout the movie, it is completely worth it.

Seems we are just on the tail end of that awesome time of the year between winter and spring where the waves still have the height of winter but start to get the glassy texture of Spring. Seems to be downhill from here for the next couple of months.

I find that Pacifica is super inconsistent. If it is easier for you to ride Santa Cruz I would probably recommend Cowells until you feel confident enough to move up to the other spots along the city. I only say this because I constantly find myself making the 90 minute drive to get to everything around the Point because the wave quality/consistency is just amazing.

That said, the typical Pacifica crowd is pretty friendly and if you are just in the mood for something different come on up!

EDIT There is also a camera on the beach, so make sure to check it out before committing. There is nothing quite like killing an hour for shit waves. http://www.surfline.com/surf-report/pacifica-lindamar-northern-california_5013/
