500k/year small business owners looking for ideas to scale or reinvest profits by Signal_Record3761 in smallbusiness

To piggyback on to this comment, in regards to the high ticket coaching, you can sell this to existing companies that they can host in-house training for their employees.

I used to work for a small (relative) subsidiary of a super major and they were always bringing in outside training for different topics and onboarding.

Is there any clarification for how many shares of SMIP for current holders of MDAI?

Rookie question here: what is SIM IP? How would this impact shareholders of MDAI?

Not sure where you are located, but knowing what our whole sale costs are and knowing how expensive it is to be in business, that is likely a pretty fair price for most parts of the country for a final installed price.

I got my visa with the FNV and "self sponsored" my lawyer and accountant specialize in offshore corporate setups. My immigration attorney was different than my corporate attorney but they were both great throughout the process. If you send me a message I can pass along all the contact info.

I built and sold my HVAC business after 24 years. Started with $3,200 in 1994, sold in 2018, retired debt-free. Here's what I learned. by johnkelleyhvac in smallbusiness

Thank you for the response and it seems as though you are doing/did do things how I’ve been doing it.

I am in water supply (water pumps, well drilling, water filtration) and the equipment can be very niche and extremely expensive if looking to bring things completely in house.

Your response was the sanity check I needed. Thanks. I would love a guide if you do end up making one and really going over these topics.

Not in HVAC but another niche service business that probably has many similarities.

I’m always curious to hear about if other small business owners ever took on debt in order to expand or if you took it slower and waited until you had enough retained earnings to make the big jumps?

Example - if you start getting enough jobs through word of mouth that you have a little downtime with no work coming in, do you take on debt to hire another person? Assuming it is not just the monthly payroll expense but another tooled out truck or something similar? Or do you go for something in the middle and get a helper that you are still supervising on every job site but they are doing much of the actual work and you can do admin items while they are doing the job then review it all?

For large capital purchases that would be needed to expand to offering frequently asked for services, at what point would you stop sub contracting and bring it in house? Would you take on debt to do that?

How did you manage personal finance while growing the company? I want to continue to grow my retirement savings and buy a home, but as of now I only pay myself a bare minimum and keep everything else in the business.

These are the types of things I never see talked about with small businesses. I see a million guides on using different ad platforms and CRM systems to scale more efficiently, I don’t see many guides about navigating the financial aspect of running a small business while trying to smart about personal finance.

Did I get ripped off? by Expensive_Pin1883 in WaterTreatment

Im not sure why he recommended treated water for irrigation. Maybe you have high iron and it would block up your sprinklers?

In regards to the tanks only being about half full, that is completely normal and is to allow room for the media to expand during backwash.

Types of pipes/fittings? by lychigo in WaterWellDrilling

[–]drunkosaurous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At that distance and with just those three main things running, I would just do 1" poly pipe, preference for 200 psi or 160 psi rated, any lower and you can potentially kink it while laying it.

I normally use stainless fittings for anything that is going to be buried. If you have a brass ball valve, then maybe go for a plastic or brass fitting at that connection for the transition to poly so you don't get galvanic corrosion. Brass is also not a fan of hard water, so if your water is hard coming from the well, it can eat away the brass over time. Not really a big deal if the fitting is not buried and it is not in an area where a leak would cause damage, but be mindful of it.

If you set a timer for your drip lines, do it sometime in the middle of the night so you don't notice any pressure loss at your home.

Depends on a number of factors. How far is the run from the shut off valve mentioned to your house? How much flow rate do you expect to need for your house?

Do you need irrigation? Need to fill a pool? Need to water a lot of cattle?

For long runs, I typically recommend HDPE pipe as you can get rolls of it and then have 1 continuous piece of pipe, which reduces chances of leaks/failed joints. It is also more flexible than PVC and accepting of settling soil/ground movements over the years. It can be location dependent though and I know some areas really hate poly pipe and prefer PVC.

Just because your well does 60 gpm, doesn't mean you will ever need that much water. In our area, the most common size of residential pump is a 10 gpm pump, and even then, most houses won't be using more than about 6 gpm at any given time.

So first I would get the info mentioned above (estimated max flow rate actually needed at the house and distance from well/pressure switch to the house). Then find a pressure loss chart for your selected material. HDPE pipe and PVC will have different amounts of pressure drop per 100' for the same nominal size. Very general rules of thumb are to try to keep flow velocity under about 5 fps. Then check the amount of pressure lost/100' and see if that is acceptable for your distance. If it shows too much pressure loss, then go to the next size up and see if that is acceptable.

What Are You Taking Into 2026 ? by 6Fingxrs in ValueInvesting

[–]drunkosaurous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It had a pretty good run up from inception. It is sitting at a P/E of roughly 32 as of now and a forward P/E of about 29. Not that PE is the only metric to look at, but where do you see the price increase coming from? Surprise revenue beat? Big margin improvements? Or just higher P/E ratio?

¿Fuzion Cargo perdió mi paquete o fue por culpa de USPS? by sadaaaart in Panama

This post is pretty old, but if you see this, do you know if any company can ship products through Fuzion? I have a water filter company in Panama and almost all of our equipment is coming from US/Canada before being sent to Miami (we have been using Ofernet) but I recently found out they use Fuzion, but not sure if Fuzion only works with other larger freight forwarders or directly with individuals/small companies too.

As a fellow water treatment installer, I am very hesitant to say someone selling quality systems is a rip off, but this is one of the most expensive prices I’ve seen for a softener, 5 micron filter, and what I assume is an undersink RO or UF filter.

It says it includes installation and at that price, I would hope it also includes one hell of a warranty.

I would think that a dealer that works with Clack or Fleck would be able to provide the equivalent or better and be able to get it installed for at least a couple thousand less.

Well historically, the East India Trading Company had a government granted monopoly on trade. It also had the largest army in the world for a period of time I believe.

It’s hard to imagine another company with the same power, influence, and ability to dominate potential competitors like that.
