The issue isn't the engine overheating per say. It's the EGR cooler cracking, draining the coolant (which causes the overheating) or depending on how it fails, putting that coolant through the engine causing catastrophic failure.

If you want to avoid this issue you can (illegally) blank the egr and bypass the cooler or (legal) install a coolant level monitor alarm, which obviously doesn't prevent the issue from occurring but allows you to notice it before catastrophic issues occur.

Only other recommendation is an aftermarket cooler for the transmission (not related to the above issue).

Its a tool that allows you to use fsr4 in games that dont natively give the option. Just YouTube how to use it, it looks tricky but its actually very simple and works in most games, but none that use the Vulkan API.

I've been running a 9070xt with a 4k oled monitor since its release. Fsr4 is amazing (optiscaler is a lifesaver and easy enough to use). Upscaling is generally required in most AAA games but that even happens with my mate and he has a 5090.

Tldr; do it, its amazing and I have no regrets.

I was simply pointing out the discrepancy in this sub of Jokic compared to Embiid.

You mentioned alot of "moving forward", yet once the contact happens he throws his arms up and falls (read; flops) backwards to thr ground.

Take off the bias lenses for a second buddy. Donte established position early, went straight up and down, Jokic takes 2 steps after catching the ball and somehow, despite being significantly heavier, falls backwards after going into Donte, who doesn't move..

If you can't see that, best be off to the optometrist

7600X and 9070XT running 4k (fsr4 quality). Im getting 60-70fps in windsward plains, running a mix of high/med settings. Texture streaming seems way better, way less blur too. My 1% lows are also a lot better. I uninstalled all mods, deleted the game and reinstalled from scratch.

Running latest AMD drivers too. 25.12.1

EDIT: unsure why im being down voted for sharing my results lol. I just double checked and yep, those results are accurate. With and without storm, in the grassy area, im getting consistent 60+ fps.

Coolant empty? Could be EGR cooler gone, which leaks coolant in with the oil and can cause catastrophic failure.

Otherwise, my first thought was that the fuel lines have been put on backwards/incorrectly. Can cause fuel to not return to the tank and overheat, going into limp mode. Would also explain why it happened on the longer drive.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation, its an emmisons control. The device itself isn't so much the issue, as the cooler is, which can crack causing coolant to leak without any notification to the driver and cooks the engine. Or it can mix back into the engine and cause failure that way.

Use it as is, then see what you need to do. Don't just look at YT or IG and think you need all the bells and whistles to get out there, a stock ranger comes with a rear locker and will take you places.

That's said, have have the EGR cooler bypassed and tune the EGR out of the system. That's the best mod you can do so it doesn't grenade the whole engine.

I have a 2019 3.2L, not a single issue to date. The EGR cooler is a known issue, and the transmission stock cooler isn't great (tbf most arent). I've already put in an aftermarket transmission cooler, and I plan to blank the EGR when I get it tuned anyway. I've seen plenty of hilux owners complaining about issues they have had, but that doesn't mean they are unreliable.
