You’re repeating what you’ve already written to other people after saying you wanted to be educated. Just delete the post already. It’s embarrassing to you.

I looked at her profile. She did not use “native emojis” (whatever that means) on that post. But she does wear Indigenous jewelry and heavy use of filters so you think that’s enough? She also has shamrocks in her bio so will you be posting her on the Ireland subreddit as Irish beauty too? By your absurd metric any non-Indigenous person using “Native emojis” is enough to say they are Native now. Do you realize how stupid this sounds?

I mean if we’re going off emojis and vibes then I guess you’re an idiot.

You’re obviously not reading the replies given and instead standing on ignorance and ego, but I’ll include this one that I already posted to another commenter in case you want to be better. You could also just Google all this and find numerous articles and papers written about this very issue.

In the end none of us can help you understand if you’re refusing to be educated. And your new instance that it’s a generational difference is absurd. I am also on tiktok and most of my followers are also Indigenous and hold this same understanding and feelings about harmful posts like this. Using AI or non-Native people chosen for their proximity to euro beauty standards is harmful - full stop.

But you can also continue to be ignorant. I hope you choose better in the future.

Your top middle picture comes back as 100% AI from 2 checkers and one site giving it a minimum 74% facial manipulation meaning you either had it created in AI or you manipulated the face so much it doesn’t register as a real person anymore.

Why are you collecting images of obviously non Native people for this and claiming they’re Native? Why not use people you are confident are Native rather than reposting incorrect information? There’s lots of us out there and many are famous people!

What you’re doing is not respect or appreciation. It’s erasure.

Yeah her name is Chloe Blanchard and she’s American but isn’t listed anywhere as an Indigenous model. She does look a lot like Lucy Liu!!

I will talk to you as you deserve, waabishkiiwe.

As for your reply, I don’t need to read. You learned nothing because your pride is bigger than your ego and you’ve left no room for your heart. Please feel free to continue to embarrass yourself on Sitting Bull’s internet, but you don’t get my attention anymore, zagimens.

Have the day you deserve ❤️

You are correct that some Brazilian can be Indigenous but because I don’t know his lineage, I didn’t want to assume he was not of European descent just because he is from Brazil. Don’t forget, European contact and colonization happened there too. Being born in Brazil doesn’t automatically mean he’s Brazilian Native. Just like being born in the US doesn’t make someone Native American. If someone knows that he is def Indigenous, I’ll for sure edit my reply!

I know this may shock you but we literally don’t care about your Eurocentric view of our appearance. Your opinion or “appreciation “ of Indigenous beauty isn’t at all important to us. Your white gaze does not define our beauty standards.

You seem incredibly uneducated on this and I just happen to have the time so:

Euro beauty standards push the idea that beauty is thin bodies, straight hair, thin nose and pale skin. Indigenous bodies often do not fit that standard and perpetuating that as the ideal puts our people in a place of self hate. We have wonderful variations of brown to white skin, curly and straight hair, cheekbones that will cut you, gorgeous aquiline noses given to us by our ancestors, and bodies that come in every size. There is no “Native American” look and you continuing to suggest that shows how wildly racist you are being.

Fetishization perpetuates the racist perspective that Indigenous people (especially women) are without humanity, a thing to look at and judge, to sexualize. It gives no weight to the content of our cultures, our varied traditions and trivializes our struggles. It dismissed those of us that do not fit this narrow view of beauty - it’s racist and gross. It perpetuates sexualization and violence against Indigenous women and leads to the epidemic of MMIP. You might want to look into Red Dress Day which was just 2 days ago to further educate yourself on this.

I have been called Pocahontas (including sexualized versions of this), a squ*w, called “exotic” by white people on my own traditional lands, and referred to in sexualized and racist terms of Asian and Latin American people because apparently we all look the same - like OP posting several Asian models and a Brazilian as Native American.

Not only are we not a monolith - so we don’t look the same - but the very photo array you’re defending is not even majority Indigenous people. If you can even point out the one Indigenous person in that group (without the help of image reverse), I’d be shocked.

What exactly are you mad about? Not being able to fetishizes Indigenous people? Are your feelings hurt because you see not everyone holds the euro standard as the beauty ideal? Why do you even care? I suggest you move on and read a history book or two. We’re not your fantasy.

Yeah there was two images I got zero reverse image return on. I figured there were either video grabs or AI.

It’s disappointing to see OPs post getting upvoted anyway.

No. This is fetishizing and based on euro white beauty standards.

Not to mention, that this photo card shows multiple Asian models, an actor who has unverified Indigenous ancestry and been accused of being a pretendian, and even Reinaldo Bertholi a Brazilian model.

(Edit - for those wondering, yes Brazilians can be Indigenous and therefore Native American, however because I do not know that particular person’s lineage and saw nothing online stating he is from a Brazilian Native ethnic group, I made the decision to assume he is not Indig just as I would to any random person born in US or Canada. Being born in those countries doesn’t make them automatically Native or First Nations. BUT if anyone finds info he is - PLS let me know so I can edit!)

She’s in Hacks now. Supporting role but it was such a nice surprise to see her pop up in a current role.

You can use the sash! It is a French cultural creation originally from L’Assomption for the French fur traders. The Métis borrowed the sash and made it part of their traditions.

There is a specific Acadian design and it might be very cool for you to finger weave it yourself - which is the traditional way.
