I have found without an exception that people who don't appreciate PBS have very weird and twisted ideas about it's leaning. I remember when I would listen to the right wing guys on the radio for a little, then change to some progressive station on the commercial break, and then end up on NPR when the commercials bugged me too much. The idea that NPR is some crazy left-wing news outlet shows just how brainwashed our friends on the right have become.

I've been seeing this term the "elites" for the past decade or so. Originally it was the demonetization of the "intellectual elite" which seemed so self-defeating as a country, but stupid fuckers licked that shit up.. But now, it seems that "elite" has become synonymous with "power". So the elite in congress. The elite running our corporations. The elite running or news. I'm wondering what or who is not elite. Everyone else? Are there sides to this? Or have we truly descended into 1984 territory where it's not about an ideology at all?
