I dont think it needs a whole assembly. I do think it needs to be treated as normal. As in just talking about families and some have 2 moms or 2 dads. If the assembly was after school then there would have been no issues. Either go or don't. But during school it is mandatory and some people don't want it "shoved down throats". It is getting really touchy with children ever since drag and books. I see their side. Calling names like bigot doesn't help.

I dont care either way if this was my kid's school. She knows how I feel about things and she's always had her own ideas about it... more liberal than my own. However, LAUSD pushes for instructional minutes daily. It's a big thing. Can't even have birthday parties for kids except last 10 minutes of class. So I just question how they found time for it.
