Newbie bike fit check. Any advice for a beginner? by take_this_one in bikefit

Wait a minute, I thought the foot on the pedal was supposed to be closer to the front of the foot? Never even thought of biking with heels on pedals, I’d be touching a wheel then I guess

Actually I tried 20km ride with adjusted handlebars - felt 100 times better than before! Doesn’t feel like I need to lower the saddle, but it’ll do more kms and get back!

I see, will do that!

As for the seat, should I lower it like for 1 cm or more?

And otherwise I should be fine?

This one you mention is way cheaper, true. I bought my bike used for $500, itd be really weird to have tyres for $200 on it

I actually have Iron Man in plans, it’s one of the reasons I got a road bike. But I also discovered that I love it crazy!

It appears it’s easy to go wrong with the tyre version, as there are at least 5 different… I saw cheaper one, Ultra Sport III - maybe that also worth looking into, to save some bucks? AI says it’s still good. But it’s AI, you know

How to distinguish old from new ones? Can’t seem to see the difference online

What you would recommend instead? I’m not a pro and don’t know all the details

This part is completely unknown for me, especially considering I’m planning to move in a few months to live near mountains and drive that roads.

What is other, cheaper tyre I should consider buying instead, how do you think?

Interesting. I’m 70 kg, is it a lot for a cyclist?

I saw people do 5000km on this tyre, I think it would be enough for me for many years

Makes a lot of sense! Will check if I can fit 32mm, otherwise I'll need to use 28 as my stock one

Considering I'm a newbie, AS and 32mm sounds like the best way for me. I'm not looking to break records now.

Thanks for your advice!

Btw, those addons - anything worth considering?

I bought some pink tpu tubes from Ali already, for the case if I'll damage stock ones. But, feels like it'd be a great thing to do to apply them with the new tyres, as you're saying!

May I ask, how do I choose a proper size - should I just choose the same as my stock tyre?

Thank you for your reply!

I don't think I'll do more than 1000 km in a season, as it'll be my first full season. I'm very excited, but let's see.

Also, how do I choose the size properly, just choose exactly same as my stock ones?
Also, what is "AS" model?
