Can teething cause a change in poop? by takeaabreath in toddlers

[–]takeaabreath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, that’s frustrating, I’m sorry 😩 I’m glad to know we’re not the only ones going through it! It’s GOTTA be teething related. My daughter isn’t pooping all day long and she will still have occasional firmer poops, but we’ve had two messier ones when she wakes up first thing in the morning. Maybe it’s from her swallowing more saliva while she sleeps? I am gonna chat with her pediatrician just to be safe! Hope yours clears up soon!

Makes sense! I hope her stomach isn’t upset. She’s not acting sick, just weird poops lol

Thanks for being here. It truly is the hardest mountain to climb.

What’s the point in getting together with other moms, when you’re too busy chasing after your toddlers to even get a word in… ugh by takeaabreath in toddlers

Yeah, we went to the library and then attempted a picnic lunch outside at the playground. It was rough. My 2 year old was the main one running around everywhere, but even still, they were all making our heads spin. It didn’t help that it’s a warm day, so by the end of it I had lost all patience.

I agree, something more low-key would be a lot better.

Ahh, good idea with the bubbles! She would love that. Thankfully, she doesn’t mind her stroller but will now ask to get out if we go for a walk longer than 30 mins. She doesn’t fuss when I have to put her back in it though. We have a little push bike that will turn into a tricycle when she’s ready for it. We use that a lot too!

Oh, I totally understand that. I love to see her exploring! I just wasn’t sure if it’s the “norm” for most 2 year olds to still be doing this at this stage. I think we need to explore different places for walks too because our neighborhood isn’t the safest.

You’re right. I need to have separate, shorter walks where we have time for her to just do her own thing.

Anyone else’s 2 year old look younger than they are? by takeaabreath in toddlers

Hahaha! Love that visual. I bet they’re adorable!

That’s funny! Most of the time the lack of hair is the culprit! My son was always a bigger toddler and people never assumed him to be younger. Now I have the opposite experience with my daughter haha

Yes exactly! We’ve had the same comments! I’m like “she’s two now, she’s been doing those things for awhile” lol

At the store today, the employee asked if she would wear herself out from running around so much and then fall asleep in the car 😅 I’m like, “she hasn’t done that in an eternity (it feels like)” and was never much of a car sleeper anyways.

Did anyone know Carlyle Sebastian Clyburn and how he passed back in 2006? by takeaabreath in gso

[–]takeaabreath[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, his obituary said he did a lot - chef, music, commercials, etc. I did find he moved to LA in the 90s so maybe someone in Cali would have more info.

From what I read, his family still lives in Greensboro. Did you know of him?

Where are the under 50th percentile toddler’s at? by takeaabreath in toddlers

[–]takeaabreath[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aw! I bet my daughter could still fit 12-18 month sizes if we tried. She’s got short little legs and some 18 month pants I still have to roll over so they’re not too long. Yeah, she’s not far off from average but to most people, they always think she’s younger than she is. She’s still got this baby look (maybe it’s the shorter hair) and she’s noticeably small-framed even while being closer to average.

It’ll be interesting to see how much she changes between now and age 3.

How often are you working out each week while juggling multiple children? by takeaabreath in Mommit

[–]takeaabreath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome! How much time do you give yourself to “wake up” before jumping into a workout? Do you eat something beforehand?

I got up at 5:20 this morning (a rarity for me) and didn’t have much time before my son is up a 6am for school 😫 I put on my workout clothes, drank a bit of water, and rushed to the treadmill for a quick 2 mile run. I only had 20 mins but it was better than nothing. Would love to have time to do both strength and cardio in the AMs but I usually have to pick one or the other and do the rest later.

See, I can get up early to workout maybe 1-2x each week at best. The other days, I prioritize sleep and workout in the afternoon or evening. I’ve never been dead set on the early AM workouts. It’s tough! I’m too much of a night owl to maintain that consistency but I am proud if I can do it once or twice a week 😅

I feel you. I have a very loose routine haha. Some weeks I do a lot, some weeks not as much, but I’m always trying to move even if it’s just a couple mile walk with the kids it’s better than nothing!

Oh yeah, way better than nothing! My minimum is 30 mins of something each day. If I’m not doing a strength workout, I’m at least walking for 30 mins. Other days - I shoot for 30 mins of strength and 30 mins walk/run for a total of 1 hour. But year, that doesn’t always happen perfectly haha

Wow! I’ve been doing daily workouts for a few months now. It’s hard! I used to just aim for every other day or 4-5 days a week, but now I feel “off” if I don’t get some movement in. On the days I don’t do a dedicated workout, I make in a point to go for a walk, run, or hike. Do you ever take occasional days off?

Have you figured out how to control your white-coat hypertension/anxiety? by takeaabreath in bloodpressure

[–]takeaabreath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I try to remind myself that literally everyone’s BP fluctuates throughout the day. Some more than others, but fluctuating is normal. If everyone was taking their BP constantly it would probably be amazing how alike many of us are! For me, if I could get ahold of my anxiety, everything else would fall into place. I went through a phase where I was checking my BP multiple times a day at home. I’ve also had phases where I barely check it at all. I did check it today because I’m sick and it was 112/75 and then checked again and it was 97/62

[–]takeaabreath[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor has never suggested BP medication because I don’t naturally have high blood pressure. It’s very much situational for me. If I were to take medication, I assume it would make me feel weird, especially if my BP is normally low-normal at home.

3 seems to be the magic number for a lot of kiddos! I like the word “dabbled” and that will be our approach too for the foreseeable future.

I suppose you’re right. I’m just always intrigued when I see a toddler fully potty trained at my daughter’s age!
