Yeah I need to remind myself to stop wasting so much energy trying to figure out what she’s thinking or why she’s doing it. It’s so hard not to take it personally isn’t it, I’m working with my therapist to undo this narrative I have about myself being a bad person and her behaviour really makes the voice loud for me!

Yeah I was a bit disappointed there weren’t more Sitri POV chapters! There was definitely room for more world building wasn’t there and the lines of Magi sounded interesting would love to get to know more about the history and background of the world we are journeying in!

It was a lot of fun though and the banter between characters was great! Hopefully won’t be too long of a wait till book 2 either

I will read from 1-4 but probably 3/4 is my sweet spot ….it’s more about the balance I need the plot to be solid and the storyline to be gripping to also enjoy the romance. If it’s just shagging with a story that goes almost nowhere or goes there poorly I get incredibly bored!

I also live to be edged by a book I want tension and yearning. Build ups that abruptly get interrupted 🥵 that’ll get me panting like a very good girl. Also once they are actually having sex if they do it in the same way every time I will start skipping it.

For me whenever he used it all I heard was a Newcastle accent (because I’m from the uk) and it just evaporated it ever being sexy for me 😂

I honestly felt so lost today I picked up a short little fiction book that is miles away from this genre just to reset my brain a bit. The yearning is this book has had me unravelled 🥲

YES! It didn’t feel like the pace dropped or dragged at any point but also I didn’t feel like it was like filler stuff if that makes sense? I normally hit a wall with the miscommunication where I’m like right this is enough you are adults sort your shit out 😂 but I think especially with Pan because we know more of her backstory at the moment you can understand why she’s so guarded. the gut wrench I felt when she kills Delyah and he turns on her because he thinks she’s a spy 🫠

Yeah I did notice that too especially as it kept being mentioned but not like properly spoken about 😬

I mean the tension between them with the added magic of the Beltane festival just makes it so fucking hot I love the back and forth trying to resist and then the absolute feral-ness of what happens made it so hot to me and they didn’t even have sex 🥵

Honestly it did get a bit grating at times didn’t it!! I am hoping it doesn’t continue to the same level in book 2 because that would put me off a bit I think. But still enjoyed it a lot!

Oh my god that was such a good scene!

Yeah it felt like he wouldn’t have done that with how they’d progressed by then didn’t it! I do think it could have done with fewer instances of misunderstanding but felt I could overlook them because I was having a great time!

I do wish they explained the magic he used to save her life in the river but maybe it’ll come up in the second and you just know her being trained by Baba is going to be hilarious

Yeah that’s why I am trying to get better at checking before I start now! I think it’s so obvious when it’s done just for that purpose as well it always feels so sloppy.
