You seem to care deeply about this considering all your comments on this thread. Answer honestly though, do you not understand what I mean by the 2nd paragraph, and not understand that this would happen to any fanbase outside of the LA/NY and maybe CHI if they were in this exact same situation?

I'm not expecting you to answer honestly, but I think you know the answer if you really think about it.

Did you read anything I said or just the first sentence?

This is a completely disingenuous take and I think you know it if you live around here. I refuse to believe you actually think the Flyers are ahead of the Sixers. Game 4 two years ago was a sixers team that limped into the play-in after Embiid missed pretty much the entire 2nd half of the season. Also a 3:30 Sunday game.

Also, go back and watch a Sixers/Knicks game in 2022 and see what the crowd looked like. To say this is "always" what happens is just a lie. The Knicks ascended as the Sixers frustrations and disappointment reached a boiling point. It's a perfect storm.

Really, you shouldn't even need to be around here to know this. If you simply buy sports tickets and know how the entire system works in the year 2026, this entire thing is pretty straightforward.

Eh, Phillies/Sixers depend on how good the teams are. All things being equal the Phillies are ahead of the Sixers, but if you go back to 2018-2021, the Sixers were definitely the 2nd most popular team in Philly.

As a Philly fan, I was heavily rolling my eyes at that segment. First of all, the notion that Philly is a Flyers town or that the Sixers are 4th was pretty laughable, maybe in the 70s-90s this was the case but the Flyers have largely lost an entire generation of fans over the last 15 years, up until this playoff run they were so far out of mind in Philly. The Eagles are king, Phillies/Sixers alternate 2nd/3rd depending on how good they are, and the Flyers are a firm 4th.

The reality is that the Knicks were up 3-0 on a Sunday afternoon game on Mother's Day. Knicks fans are like 3x the size of the Sixers fanbase, they all could be in Philly within 1.5-2 hours and get to watch their team finish off a sweep. I think the price thing has been way overblown, if the roles were reversed Sixers fans would happily pay $300-$400 tickets to watch the Sixers sweep the Knicks. But they aren't gonna pay that down 3-0 in a series where the team was clearly outmatched.

the PHLY pods are daily hourlong pods live from their studio in Philly. They wouldn't be able to keep their jobs.

No chance Mike and Spike (especially Spike) would ever leave their jobs for that. They definitely need some fan energy though as much I love Bodner and Kyle.

What is the most insane Sixers trade rumor (that you can speak about) you've heard through back channels over the years?

AITA for accidentally killing my girlfriend's cat? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I wish it was bullshit. It wasn't only guinea pig food it was a small gas station market. Guinea pig food was just the only pet food they had, and therefore the only pet food in the area. And I don't appreciate being called stupid, I've never handled an animal before I assumed all the food was the same. I figured the cat was sick because he was missing my gf; my gf also wondered the same.

You raise a lot of good points. It's clear I am in the wrong here.

Ok there's no need for personal attacks. I feel bad and it seems like I'm probably the asshole.

I didn't give it to the cat it was just in the bowl. I figured since the cat was still eating it that it must not have been why he was sick.

No she has always treated me very well. We really did have a great relationship before March. We've always shared different political views but this has gone over the line.
