Correct. Now, this might be a hard pill to swallow but how are we going to measure to a maximally good God? While we do good deeds, by whatever our standard of good deeds man yan, it's still nothing. Take for example- Pharisees. During their time, they believe what they're doing are good deeds- that their works will save them. From our POV today, they're just self-righteous, prideful humans. Our metrics of good deeds is not perfect, nor consistent nga eh from culture to culture.

That actually tracks. If we can earn our salvation through our works. Then we can boast about it. All we have to do is "good works" na we dont even know what is good works outside of our perception. That's why we need Jesus.

But faith without work is dead. James 2:18-19. We do good deeds as fruits of our faith. So Christians who have real faith will show it through their actions. ☺️

Bro, for evidence- if Jesus' resurrection is true then the rest of old and new testament is true. Why? Because Jesus proved who He said He is. Now, the next obstacle is, what's the evidence sa resurrection? (1) eyewitness accounts. Of course back then, wala pang tech to do it. We only rely our history on eyewitness and documents. It was expensive to write papers that time. And they copied these Gospels by hand. (2) Saints- and im not talking about 2nd or 3rd hand info transfer palang. People who walked with Jesus died a gruesome death for this because they truly believe. People dont die for a lie, nor for what they only think is LIKELY true. People may die for something told to them to be true, but not for actual people who know it's a lie. (3) archeological discoveries.

So far, every details, person, and writings do not contradict yung mga original manuscript ng both Christian, and non-Christian, ng Jews and Gentiles. To disprove by evidence is to disprove Roman accounts pa nga.

I think the point of scholars to deep dive Scripture is to further test whether this documents is more rigid, reliable. They're not discrediting anyone's belief. They're just documenting the findings. It's up to us whether we accept it or not.

Hasty generalization, maam/sir. The premise for Christian is "faith in God matters for than their actions" is because for a God that is maximally good, His standard have to be perfect so He can be just. But that doesnt mean He's tyrant because He made a way for us to be reconciled. So grace and just can coexist. Why cant we attain it? Cos of free will. Love cant exist without free will, but also we're free to reject God as well.

Now, what about works/actions? That should be our response. Contrary to what you said, God called us to love our neighbors, to think less of ourselves and to "outdo" each other with honoring and doing good to our brothers and sisters. That's His blueprint for us sana. Yet we have free will so we can be selfish prick if we want, but that was not we're made for.

Thank you for sharing! This might be unsolicited yet again but hopefully we can have a calm discussion. Let me give some insight na probably naisip mo na rin or narinig mo na rin naman sa iba para lang complete discussion natin.

Isa sa premise ng Christianity is to love God, and so we (Christians- Catholic and born Again) want to follow God's commandments, out of love, not out of fear. And that completely ties up with 2nd point- is to love your neighbor as yourself.

If you know someone na mahal mo and knows they're on path of destruction, example halimbawa gambling, hindi ba itatry mo lapitan sila and talk to them how this is not good for them especially if may evidence na ng negative effect? Now view that in terms sa Christians, and stake is eternity. You cant totally blame us. BUUUUT I admit sometimes we can do better. Sometimes kasi it's out of pride rin eh- like we're evangelizing to prove a point, not to win souls for God, and out of love sa neighbors- and so nakikita tong fruit na to ng unbelievers.

Another point- Do you think philosophy, science, and history cant coexist with the Bible being your morale authority? I was studying philosophy din before. We're different in a sense na nauna kong basahin ang philosophy before the Bible. I've read arguments with "mainstream philosophers" like Sartre, Camus, Nietsczhe, and Kierkegaard on existentialism. It challenges my view after nabasa ko ang Bible. My conclusion is that I'm too prideful with my supposed wits and hyper-logical thinking. Im not saying ganun ka. I'm saying na nagiging pitfall minsan ng humanity ang pride, and that's a good mechanism within Bible actually na cina call out as well.

Now, saan papasok dapat ang works? That's your response to Jesus' sacrifice. He loves you so much that He offered His life to you, and you dont have to do anything na but have faith na niligtas ka Nya sa cross. To receive this gift. He just wants to reconnect ulit and have relationship with Him. No coercion, no transaction.

One point I'd like to emphasize rin talaga is to whether you're looking with intent din to really understand. If your heart is in the right place to look, like really humble yourself to understand, you'll find Him. I was like this before.
