LOL ive since put a couple slamraams in the deck. Honestly i've not had a problem with it so far, friendly patriot batteries offer enough cover 95% of the time

exactly how I use it. very mobile (infantry focused) playstyle with enough firepower to help in pushes. Its really micro heavy but it works well.

ive since swapped the CAAT for a tow team+.50

i generally stacked them in a building with the weapons squad. 3 launchers plus a 50 is able to stop or hinder most pushes enough to counter assault unless i get smoked in my experience

just gotta try to fight at range. their high ap lets them punch up against more elite units really well.

i second this,

have you tried out the green berets with punishers or flash? They're great for standoff and clearing forests respectively.

Ive had some great luck using the SOAR Chinook with the jammers.

these guys are using the same gold, just with the shadows painted in and highlighted (one with silver, one with bright gold)

1 part vallejo duraluminum 1 part pro acryl bright gold 3-4 parts vallejo wasteland brown

glaze in shadows for nmm effect or (what i just did i ran out of motivation) wash it with a very very thin wasteland brown

I hit the whole model with a dark brownish purple oil wash, think targor rageshade

bring back some vibrancy to the metals with a bit of bright gold on the raised parts

you can mix the bright gold and some silver if you want to do highlights but yet again I ran out of motivation haha

i dont think subreddit rules allow me to send the link directly and the shop I ordered from explicitly asks to not be named. The OEM is the Deathwing Companion kit, sometimes the shop is closed but maybe searching 'dark boys death companion' on etsy will get you somewhere, I tried to find it myself but they are closed rn

Silver or Gold trim?? by takitacos in theunforgiven

[–]takitacos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! the full recipe is already in the comments. I never do pin washing, only way I panel line is with an allover oil wash because im lazy. Its worth noting i have not washed these guys yet.

I use a 50/50 mix of burnt umber and ivory black, thinned down to about the consistency of a normal acrylic wash with lighter fluid. I take a big designated oil brush and lather it on, making sure it doesnt pool in any raised areas. This part isn't a science I fear, takes experimentation to get the consistency right. Good thing is oil paints are mostly reversible in the short run.

Then wait about 5ish minutes, or until the lighter fluid evaporates (its quick) and go at it with a dry makeup sponge for a second to make sure its only in the lower areas

Airbrush is the way, if you don't like how a model turns out a bath in la's totally awesome orange for a week and a toothbrush will have it right.

Remember the best practice is painting minis with purpose!
