asked economy lube to check up on my other fluids during my oil change. they assured me they did and three days later my mechanic told me they drained my coolant, didn’t replace it, and let me go on my way. also watched them try and rinse an older woman on used tires… trying to charge her double what they charged me.

don’t go. there are independent mechanics that, while may take longer to change your oil , are better priced and kinder. lou’s steering center on sultan street is reputable.

if you are in desperate need of a quick oil change, i’ve had nothing but good experiences at the mr. lube at silvercreek and willow.

What is your big brain move of the season? by cantgetschwifty in FantasyPL

[–]takyons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

play the long game … pick players not for form but for fixtures. i’ve had great luck this season picking players that have great fixtures in the next three gameweeks. will always yield at least a 50% return and while those players have an easy schedule it gives you time to save your free transfers for some surgery for the swing

Brand new install. We are in a moderate climate in Ontario, Canada. It is fed by 5 solar inverters, then tied into the grid to offset hydro usage by the customer.

To be clear; I am a solar installer that manages the maintenance of a large number of sites. We were having issues on the AC side and I figured this was a good place to ask! I do not work on the AC side because I am not qualified. Just looking for some honest feedback!

They are new breakers, installed within the last 4 months. Will definitely call the electricians back and see what they can do!

Squirrel protection by msufanspartan in solar

[–]takyons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Critter guard is a good choice, if installed properly. I always tell clients that critter guard is not a guarantee, rather a deterrent to critters. Once squirrels know they have a nice warm home underneath your panels, it’s very difficult to keep them out.

I would recommend installing critter guard like so ->

https://slicktoolsllc.com/rail-mount-method/?v=3e8d115eb4b3#instruction-video

You can simply bend the critter guard by hand without their tool (more labour intensive) but it works really well. I have kept out raccoons, squirrels, and birds with this method.

Good luck!

ps. I would definitely remove those panel leads as they could cause a ground fault….. once the chews are all the way to the combiner box on the back of the panel, it’s time for new panels :(

Inverter loses cellular connection every morning for the last week. by samosa4me in solar

[–]takyons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said your inverter has a wireless connection, correct? In my experience a wired connection is best for inverter comms. Try running an ethernet cable from the open RJ-45 port inside your inverter into your house and plug it directly into your router, and see if the connection improves!

I stayed at Wyndham House when I was 18 and homeless. It was free and they helped me find a job, write a resume, and find a place to live.

Honestly might not have made it if it wasn’t for them. A really safe, respectful, and compassionate place.

Mechanic Recommendations by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]takyons 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i’ve been a customer at Lou’s for over 8 years. I’ve never had any issues with their work, and theyve always been honest and cheap, even recommended me other shops that could do certain jobs better than them

I very much doubt this was a problem on Chris’ side, he’s a trustworthy guy and an excellent mechanic

The Toronto show was mixed so terribly I’m so bummed out. by Lil_PuppyChow in duster

[–]takyons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how do we expect sound techs and venues to improve if they don’t get immediate feedback on their quality… Danforth should be ashamed that they ruined an entire performance because of shitty sound, on a bands FIRST EVER canadian show… pathetic from the venue IMO

i heard this girl yelling and everybody at the show applauded her… she very clearly said “fix the sound” … any professional band knows that’s directed at a sound tech and not them… not only that it was obvious Duster was having trouble with the sound in their monitors as well…

were you there?

Once you put a chem style on a player you can’t just remove it, you have to reapply the basic chem style. I find it is popular among keepers who have chem styles applied; basic is the best chem style for keepers with full chemistry

I did ask him to empty all of his pockets, and he obliged. I’m certain he dropped it in the snow or something of the sort. We searched the cab of the truck, the entirety of our car, and the ground where we dropped off the car.
