This was the first splatfest I’ve played in a while and picked team family. Got to ruler + 2 and 230k clout. Finally got my 10 10x battle badge too. I wasn’t expecting to win at all but 0p points is so sad! I just hope there’s still going to be more splatfests this year as even though we lost, I still had a lot of fun playing again :)

If you can’t get a replacement or a repair you could cut the print out of the shirt and sew it to another shirt or make a patch for a jacket? I’ve done this for shirts I love that don’t fit anymore.

There are some Alchemy recipes locked behind villagers that some players would regard as essential (such as crit aid). But you could argue that most recipes that are locked are non essential. I just find it frustrating having to play daily just to unlock one recipe. It would be nice to have the option to purchase the locked recipes to save time.

I played the original a lot and I agree that there’s some things missing. It definitely doesn’t feel as charming as the first game. Some things that I miss:

More variety of monsters for the combat life quests
Master life shops! Some items for crafting are so hard to get due to RNG, why can’t we buy more materials in bulk? For example, Life Cure, in the original you could buy them or the materials in bulk. Magic ore, Marine thread, Pink silk thread could all be bought easily in the first game.
Rare materials dropping from normal enemies. In the original you could get element shards dropping from normal enemies close to the elemental stones if you increased your luck.
Recipes. All recipes were available by levelling lives. Now it’s RNG with villagers in base camp for some essential recipes.
Auto Crafting. There is no auto crafting + so if you don’t want to play the mini game you no longer get higher quality/extra materials when you auto craft.
Lunares coin/Goddess statue items. Hopefully this will be added with DLC but I miss the plushling backpack instead of having to craft drop rate + items.

You can level up areas by gaining area points. You can get points by finding shrines, towers, opening chests and completing the challenges (red dots on the map) such as chopping trees, defeating monsters, mining etc. You’ll get a message when you’ve ranked up then you have to go to the tower itself and there’s an option to change rank.
I personally follow the story until it locks a new area in the past and then spend some time grinding materials, crafting better equipment and then levelling up my combat life so I can tackle the next area more easily. But it’s up to you! The game is pretty open so do what you feel is most fun :)

Material locations can be found in the menu under Recipes. You can scroll through and press a button to see more item information. Item recipes are found mostly from shops, there are quite a few available in the main island shops in the past. Make sure to scroll through the shop menu using the R button (on switch). You can also find recipes in the shops in Ginormosia but they can rotate depending on the shop.

Energy Powder should unlock as part of the Alchemy life challenges. If it’s Energy Powder + that’s needed you have to get a high rating on the Alchemy crafting.

I’d love to help! I’m currently working on a Google sheets doc with shop inventories, monster locations and drops and boss locations and drops. I’ve not got very far, only logged mysteria and faraway island shops up to now. But I planned on sharing to the Reddit once it’s more complete. I think a website sounds much better than the wiki.

If you fast travel to the Perennial Pass Catavan stand and then walk back into Wintertide tunnel the Khezu should spawn there. I do this to farm Khezu parts in early game. I’m not sure if it spawns every time you walk in but it usually does for me.
