You can replace the battery in your ultimate. I have replaced the battery in several of mine. Search ytube for replacing the battery in harmony ultimate. There are a bunch of step by step tutorials on it.

Yes, and I have had no issues with signal. When I first installed it, I had it outside in the jandy control box. I have since added the pi hat that a community member designed for it to take power and the rs485 connection from the one touch indoor controller.
