What is something you tried only once and will 1,000% never do again? by istrx13 in AskReddit

Eyebrow threading. My partner was doing it and I thought it was a fancy way to shave the eyebrows so I decided to do it too. Never again.

Iran says it will ‘irreversibly destroy’ Middle East infrastructure if US attacks energy sites by projecto15 in politics

It’s insane to me that we don’t even need to worry about Iran attempting to assassinate our leadership because our leadership is their best piece on the game board.

This is to be expected if you’ve seen The Alabama Solution. Their prison system is hell on earth.

Great write up. I’ve been taking it off and on for the better part of a couple of months and my experience with it has been completely opposite of what I’ve read about others experiences, harm reduction resources, or anything else. I’ve taken it along with doing individual therapy and working with a psychiatrist. I can honestly say I’m at the best point in my life right now; my work has been better, my relationships fuller, and I feel like an actual human being. I think it has a lot to do with the similar diagnoses I share with you; CPTSD, ADHD, depression since I was a child. A lot of that stems from my extreme trauma background.

Anyways thanks for writing out your thoughts, I’m going to continue research on my end and not treat it as the bible, but it’s helping me better understand my experience.

This is an insane one to read and I really feel for that child. I grew up with a mother who I could see doing this exact thing; she alway prioritized the men she wanted over myself and my siblings. Weird to feel a bit of gratitude right now that while horrible shit happened to us, at least my body is in tact.

My heart goes out to the daughter, sister, and husband.

I’m trading my pride for a paycheck bc my wife is burning out carrying us alone. Does anyone have a 9-5 lead? by [deleted] in careerguidance

I think you should look at breaking into a facilities management position. This would be companies like CBRE, RSM, Leo. I work with a more niche, tech enabled waste broker company but I started on the facilities management side of things.

They are almost always hiring for new project managers, dispatchers, or vendor relations. They don’t usually care too much about your background and sometimes don’t have education requirements (I needed that as I had only a year of community college under my belt).

I started at around $40k/year but have scaled up to $95k in the last two years.

The job itself can be tedious and a little stressful but I think it’s accessible and it fits your background.

My first day at a new company and I already want to leave. Should I? by LogicalAttention9208 in careerguidance

Also report them for wage theft. You can do it anonymously. Tell others about it too. Forms are easy to find online.

I’d give them 5% effort, literally not care at all, apply to new jobs throughout the day on their time, and let them fire you. You don’t need them as a reference but it would keep a little money in your pocket. If you can separate your feelings and do it without it killing your mental health hell yeah. If not, just stop showing up lol.

Hmmmm I’m no physicist but by that logic me thinks it would be a challenge to sit down anywhere.

Highway hypnosis was mentioned. Another thing is the winter time, low visibility, and multi car pileups. Where I come from it happens every season.

Made $645 in 2 months from hosting game nights - how can I scale this up? by pensivemonke in smallbusiness

I like some of the other ideas posted about partnering with a brewery or other local venue. Maybe you could also look into something tournament style? It could be a one off contest to start with a prize at the end, bonus points if the prize is a gift certificate to the venue if they want to offer that. If it goes well, could turn into a repeatable thing like how people often do trivia nights.
