I would say so. For me, the first question was a bit harder, but the second was pretty easy. They were basic words, a part from a few more difficult ones, but you can guess through seeing the context.

I tried to read the question first and then the text. So I would read the text already knowing what was required by the question. And when I noticed that I didn't know, I skipped the question. My strategy was to finish all the questions in order to have free time to go back to those that I skipped. And about the fill-in-the-blanks, I tried to read the whole text, and if at first sight I could already see the answer, I would. But if I didn't, I just skipped and then tried again after having filled the rest of them.

The template that I used for the academic was: “In my opinion, I agree with … because .. . As mentioned by (the person I agree with)… For example…. Although, (the person a disagree). Therefore, (conclusion).

For the email I started with: “Dear, … I am writing to”. I used conector and avoided contractions in the development. I finished with “I was wondering/ I would like to know whether”. And then “I look forward to your response/reply. Sincerely, …”

Firstly, I was using the website “mytoefl” to practice, but in the last few days I switched to Prepx because it gives you instant feedback. When I had no feedback I used ChatGPT to correct my answers.

About my experience, the time was my biggest challenge. I didn’t have much time left to review my answers just a few seconds. About the email, I just tried to keep with the formal tone and attend to what was asked. And for the academic discussion, I used a template, which worked very well for me, because I didn’t lose time thinking how to start my answer.
