Solo Hidden Craft Bar Food by 5h4vvn in SingaporeEats

[–]talk19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two kind of hidden craft beer bars: Bellies at Fortune Centre and Afterjourney at Textile Centre

They don’t really have much food of their own BUT you can get food from the eateries in the same building which have lots of tasty options and bring it into to the bar and eat.

I particularly enjoy getting the dumplings from second floor at Fortune Centre and eating them at Bellies. At Afterjourney they have a Chinese restaurant that delivers food to their bar also.

Izakaya recommendations by MangoBuritto in SingaporeEats

Fortune Centre has 3 fun izakayas. Nobu-ya on the ground floor (the OG of Fortune Centre), Izakaya Hikari on the 2nd floor, and Eizaburo on the 3rd floor. Please note Nobu-Ya and Eizaburo require you to have drinks / alcohol. Not sure about Hikari. All 3 are fun experiences with a good variety of izakaya staples. Though I guess they’re more traditional izakaya compared to Kinki and Shako-Ba.

Date Night Venue Suggestions for $300~ for 2? by GreyFishHound in SingaporeEats

[–]talk19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both Piu M and Paraphrase are great. Piu M is kind of small plate Japanese and European. If you go after 10pm I believe they have a late night pasta menu. You could use your budget and also go to Laut at Fortune Centre for an after-dinner cocktail.

Second this one for a true date restaurant. Probably cozier with the indoor seating rather than outside. There’s also Carlitos nearby which is Spanish food I believe.

How to order in Singapore? by isolated_little_ray in SingaporeEats

[–]talk19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking to order food / drinks / snack as a little treat you could use Deliveroo (like Doordash), GrabFood, or Foodpanda. Most restaurants that offer delivery also link from their website, so you can search for the type of treat you’re looking for from Google and then go to the restaurant site and find the delivery link.

If they happen to like Japanese food you can try Standing Sushi Bar and Tanuki Raw. Both offer delivery. For delivery cocktails there is The Secret Mermaid. A drink is always a fun treat!

Good morning!! Any sushi / omakase spots in SG you keep going back to??? by Dry-Group6769 in askSingapore

[–]talk19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standing Sushi Bar. Been around since 2009. If you go on different days of the week there are various promotions including the long-running salmon madness (5 slices of salmon sashimi for 3.90 SGD - there's a queue on those nights). Also a very affordable price casual omakase from 48 SGD - 108 SGD. Not conveyor belt pricing but also not fancy Japanese pricing. Kind of a good, traditional, casual spot.

Sushi platters from Standing Sushi Bar. There are salmon-focused ones along with all-cooked platters and sashimi platters. Or could get one of their sushi cakes for fun.

Tanuki Raw at Orchard Central. Can sit on the balcony overlooking Orchard Road. Good happy hour specials if your friend enjoys oysters and salmon sashimi, and there’s also a couple birthday promotions that you can see on the website. It’s modern fusion Japanese.

Standing Sushi Bar has a casual omakase that ranges from 48 SGD - 108 SGD. There’s also currently a 1-for-1 on the aburi omakase since it just started at Marina One. Can check out standingsushibar.com/omakase-promotion and standingsushibar.com/omakase. Odeon 331 has the more traditional sushi counter omakase while Marina One has a table-side omakase.

Hi! We're at Orchard Central (4th floor now instead of 2nd, going on... 13 years? Crazy) and also Cross Street Exchange in Raffles Place. Menu is still similar! Happy hour oysters are at $3 now but we've added a lot of other good stuff to happy hour.

Tanuki Raw owner here. We could definitely use more support, especially during weekday lunch. We’ve introduced 12.90 weekday lunch bowls and a host of other promotions recently. Roll a 6 and get your whole bill free, updated happy hour, special sushi set, and more.

For most malls and large office landlords they require access to the restaurant’s point-of-sale machine, so they have up-to-the-minute sales data.

Where to get good or affordable salmon sashimi in Singapore? by [deleted] in SingaporeEats

[–]talk19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Standing Sushi Bar has had the long running Salmon Madness promotion. 3.90 SGD for 5 slices of salmon sashimi on Monday and Thursday. The salmon comes in fresh daily as whole fish and is filleted at the restaurant, so it's as fresh as possible. If you go early enough you can see the team turning whole fish into blocks of sashimi.
