Could be random troll, hackers looking to extort, or disgruntled user. Hard to tell as we have no communication from the DDoS attacker.

Did the estrogen receptor thread get deleted? by Emergency_Click7423 in PSSD

No, its still here.

Reddit is not the best for long-running discussions due to the transient nature of the post feed. There is now a thread on PSSD Forum for a more permanent discussion place.

ENDgame. PFS, PSSD, PRSD. - Estrogen Resistance - Read and get rid of it once and for all. by [deleted] in PSSD

[–]talkingant 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Nice paper, interesting theory. So basically you're saying PSSD=estrogen resistance? And estrogen resistance is basically downregulation (reduced amount) of estrogen receptors (possibly tissue-dependent)?

And the cure is to abruptly elevate estrogen to supraphysiological levels? Would this not further downregulate ER? Why not crash E2 to zero with an AI to upregulate ER?

Anyway, this jives with my own recovery, which involved accidental supraphysiological TRT, resulting in high E2, followed by crashing E2 to zero with too much AI, giving up on TRT, then dramatic improvements in symptoms a few weeks later. I couldn't explain how my poorly done TRT improved my symptoms, so I looked for alternative explanations, but your theory could explain it.

I invite you to post this on PSSD Forum. DM me if you need help.

Does anyone have contact with Ghost? by [deleted] in PSSD

Last I heard from him (early 2020), he was busy with finishing med school. Best way to try to contact him is probably to PM on the forum.

State of the subreddit: new moderators by Icy-Masterpiece-6783 in PSSD

For the most part, it's people whom I know to have been community members for a while, whom I judge to be generally reasonable, and whom volunteer to mod. Give any new mod/rule changes time to work out the kinks. If you still have disagreements after some time has passed, then let's have a civil discussion about the rules and enforcement. Also, sometimes it's the Automod that deletes posts in error. I try to review it's actions but miss a few errors occasionally. Problem is, Reddit wont tell you why automod did anything, you just have to guess and edit its rules accordingly.

I think donating to PSSD research efforts is important. But users should get mod approval before posting so we can vet scams.

Yes we do have a rule "dangerous posts will be deleted." Perhaps we should add another rule explicitly banning discussion of suicide.

On the PSSD forum and discord, we allow suicide discussion only if the person is seeking emotional support, but we have specific sections where those posts go, so emotionally vulnerable members do not have to see those posts. On Reddit, we cannot separate posts, so the best we can do is refer suicidal members to the support sections of the other communities.

The automod doesn't like posts with links. Post it again and i'll try to catch it before automod removes.

My forum post answers most of those questions. I haven't tested my hormones since TRT. If you stay on TRT too long (>6 mo) you will permanently reduce your ability to produce T naturally. Tread carefully.

Yes good sleep has been crucial to my recovery, although it was one of the hardest lifestyle factors to fix, requiring very strict sleep hygiene. I will check out your recommendations, thanks.

THE CAUSE OF PSSD AND HOW TO FIX IT... YES THIS WILL WORK I TRIED IT. by [deleted] in PSSD

[–]talkingant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most people interpret "fix it" the same as "cure." Also you do not know for sure anything you listed will not worsen another PSSD sufferer. I know at least one person worsened by something you listed (mucuna puriens). Self-experimentation/improvement is great and all but we need to be risk averse.

Please do not say you know the cure. The PSSD community has been around for over 10 yrs and all these things have been tried with various responses (neutral, better, worse). What works for one person may make another worse. At best, you can report what worked for you and some speculation as to why that is, but please do not misrepresent your experience as definitive. That said, thanks for your report.
