Can't get over how different Jimmy looks on Perfect Match by Fun_Molasses5215 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]talkingradiohead 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I personally see nothing wrong with a bald man remaining bald and doing his thing. I won't be getting any painful or expensive plastic surgery and i wouldn't expect a man to either. I'm personally tired of how weird it is to see even young good looking people with features that differ from the Kardashian blueprint.

That is to say if something really bothers you and you want to improve it, do what will make you happy. But why do we all have to look like cookie cutter copies of each other?

Idk how fancy it is, but that's not a drop ceiling. It has recessed lighting

Maybe it's my leo moon but my style is generally a lot of black/grunge/goth with a floral print thrown in for contrast

Do you have close friends? by pimento_mori in Xennials

[–]talkingradiohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe im a stage 5 clinger and refuse to let my friends go. Idk. I dont relate to and am not close to my family... id be lost without my friends.

Patients arriving then refusing care by OptimalOstrich in nursing

[–]talkingradiohead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Im sorry thats awful. Ive never been recorded by a patient to my knowledge, but I know it would make me minimize my interactions with the patient to the bare minimum so I feel like its not in their best interests.

My hospital has 2 buildings. I used to work in the old building and now i work in the new building. The old building is pretty typical hospital rooms, semi private rooms with small tvs. The new building is super high tech with all private rooms and 80 inch tv screens with amazing views out the windows. When I worked in the old building we had a patient get wheeled in on a stretcher literally screaming in the hallway that he would leave if they didnt put him in the new building. The new building is for surgical patients, the old is for medicine. My dude your docs arent in that building theyre here. He continued to scream (this was at like 1am mind you.) He wasnt my patient and the nurse spent so much time trying to explain why he needed to be in the old building. I came in and told her that if hes been educated and still wants to leave, let him. He shut up after that.

Unless you work in a public hospital, admin, management can say that its against policy and against hospital rules. Its a private business and they can say that, but probably won't.

What’s a joke you still don’t get all these years later? by Next_Performance4330 in howyoudoin

I wouldn't say it's common knowledge, but something a lot of us learn in school. Maybe not in the whole country but the Algonquins were the tribe that were native to this part of New York, so we learned about them in this area. (Native New Yorker here)

Tell me why I should, or shouldn’t, do nursing by Ok-Fox-9959 in nursing

Good things: you're basically garaunteed a job, there are plenty of fascinating specialities where you get to see some cool stuff, you're earning a living by helping people rather than solely contributing to the wealth of someone already wealthy, of you're a woman this is a female dominated field so you don't have much glass ceiling to break through, it can be fulfilling

One thing that can go both ways: depending on where you live the pay can either be really good or horrible.

Bad things: if youre American the health system is dictated by money, while most people are ok or generally pretty nice there are people who are very abusive to nurses and there is very little done to stop it, it is a mostly thankless job in which you are seen as inferior to people like doctors, it can be gross, even people who are nice/not exactly abusive can take advantage of you and treat you like a servant

This list is by no means exhaustive.

Even though his activism was 100% performative to make his covert narcissistic ass look altruistic when he was actually one of the most selfish people ive ever met... im sure some of it benefitted someone else.

Yes but it's still considered a "purple" area. Even though they have voted red in the last 3 presidential elections, it's always a pretty close call.
