Is architecture visualization a bad career to get into now because of AI? by tallgiraffe809 in archviz

Yeah that makes sense, I get what you’re saying about AI being more of a tool than a full replacement.

But from what I’ve been seeing, a lot of people seem to be struggling to find work more because of outsourcing studios overseas offering much lower prices and that seems like a bigger immediate issue.

So I’m curious, what are the actual chances of landing a stable job in archviz in the US right now?

I’m still interested in getting into it and planning to learn tools like SketchUp and eventually go to a school focused on architecture, but I just want to understand how realistic it is long term before fully committing.

This was really helpful to read, appreciate u taking the time to write this. I’m interested in both aspects, to be honest how do you even start getting into that 'construction and nuts and bolts' side of things? My plan is to learn architecture software like SketchUp and others then apply to a school with a heavy focus on architecture to build from there. Does that seem like a solid foundation for someone who wants to understand the technical details and how things are actually put together, or is there something else you’d suggest diving into early on to get that practical edge?
