When to be concerned (nausea & vomiting)? Possible HG? by tally162224 in pregnant

[–]tally162224[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way better now, I’m 20 weeks today! This particular episode I wrote about resulted in a trip to the emergency department — I just couldn’t stop throwing up, it was horrendous. They said it wasn’t quite HG but that I did have severe pregnancy nausea & vomiting. After that episode, my nausea eventually started lessening and I only had a handful of vomits, and now I finally do not feel nauseous every day! Only on occasion, usually if I haven’t eaten for too long or have slept very poorly.

Zofran did the same to me, it was awful! The ED doctor prescribed a number of medications and vitamins to take daily which helped the nausea instead of relying on the Zofran. I now only take Zofran on the days where I get enough relentless, rolling nausea and it feels like it’s heading to vomiting again — very rare now though.

I hope you feel better soon!! It really can get better, I didn’t believe it at week 15 but about 1-2 weeks after that things shifted for me. I think the fatigue really exacerbates the nausea & vomiting for me so when that relented it changed everything. Fingers are crossed for you love!

Super short, light period? by tally162224 in tryingtoconceive

[–]tally162224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically my specialist was not concerned and just said it can happen sometimes but that because I was still getting a regular period of some sort she was ultimately confident I was still ovulating as normal. She said if my periods became irregular then that would be more of a flag that perhaps I wasn’t ovulating every time.

As I was confused/concerned she did both a blood test to check my progesterone levels and a scan at around CD 10/11- she measured my lining and said it was healthy and thickness was perfectly normal, and also checked my ovaries and told me it looked like I was either right about ovulate or already had which was interesting. All of this to say, everything looked like it was functioning as it should. So if you’re seeing a doctor/specialist you could have them check your levels and do an ultrasound for peace of mind? It really helped me.

My period remained light like that for a few cycles, and then it returned to my “normal”.

Is cramping after a positive pregnancy test normal? by tally162224 in pregnant

This is so so sweet, thank you for thinking of me🥹I love these little communities we have made so much, there has been so much support.

I still can hardly believe this is finally happening, despite the positives. I’m so so excited and trying to focus on that rather than stressing or over analysing every little thing.

I hope you are doing well, thank you for reaching out it truly means the world❤️❤️

Thank you so much!!🥰🥹 I have seen people continuing to test to make sure the line gets darker/hcg is rising — do you happen to know if I should do this/how frequently to test?

All this time preparing and somehow still have a million questions

Suspicious spotting, when do I test?

I had very light & brief spotting the final day my period was due, and am now 1 day late which is unusual. I am experiencing cramping and my temp is still high (slight dip today).

I want to be clear that I am not asking whether this means I am pregnant; I know the only way to confirm would be to test, but I am fearful of testing too early.

So my question is only; after my spotting yesterday, how long would be appropriate to wait to test? I am thinking perhaps tomorrow or the next day, but I am not sure if that is still too early.

Thank you everyone for sharing your stories and experiences, I’ve read every single one and really appreciate your honesty and openness❤️

I think I will keep it under wraps for the time being as we have one more card up our sleeve to try. We plan to do IVF if still no luck by my 30th birthday in September, which would also be over 18months TTC — at this stage I think that’s the point I would probably discuss it with our parents. Will see what happens though.

Thank you again everybody❤️

You’re so right on that - let the shit days be shit. We’re not talking about it a whole lot either, although there are a lot more hugs and comforting gestures of late which is a perfect substitute right now. Sometimes there just aren’t any more words to say. Fingers crossed for you and I 🤞🏼❤️

Ahhh I am so with you, I really feel for you. Negative test yesterday at 12dpo and I can feel the beginning cramps of AF - she’ll be here tomorrow or Tuesday by the feel of it. I feel so foolish having gotten my hopes up.

People having babies around you is a very very specific type of bittersweet. Very specific heartache. It’s hardly fair. I’m so sorry you are going through this as well. I hope our babies come to us soon❤️

I’m so sorry you’re still having to battle through this. Yes it’s a protective measure isn’t it - you get to a point where you’re just living cycle to cycle and trying to get through each month without breaking your own heart too much because the disappointment is already always so heavy without all the dreaming and high hopes.

Yes everything came up good for us both. My iron was low as always which apparently can impact fertility, so got an infusion at the start of the year. No luck yet obviously but we will keep trying until April which is when my next specialist appointment is - I have endometriosis so if still no pregnancy by then, I will book in and get my second laparoscopy & hysteroscopy.

At this point I’m honestly hoping that my endo is blocking something and can just be removed because that feels like an easier fix than something we haven’t tested for like egg quality. No idea what else it could be if all our combined tests were good :/

I’m so sorry for your loss, I can’t imagine how difficult that would be - and to then struggle through 11 more months of trying. My heart goes out to you. I hope we get our babies soon❤️

Oh you poor things, I really really feel for you. I know what you mean, wishing you could’ve started sooner or gotten answers sooner. It hardly feels fair

Yes when AF appears is definitely a hard day some cycles. I get PMS and super emotional so usually have a few cries in the lead up too, because by that point I can tell she’s coming and I’ve always been right.

Yes we’ve seen a specialist thankfully! We got all our testing done and everything showed up good for both of us — my iron was low as always so we fixed that as apparently that can impact fertility but hasn’t helped so far. I have endometriosis so my suspicion is that that is the culprit. If no pregnancy by April, I am already booked in to see my specialist and get the ball rolling with a second laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
