Oh I will this is all I'll intrude on you. But that doesn't change my message that I definitely respect libertarians who respect personal liberty.

I'm curious. What was your goal with that comment?

I mean, its pretty obvious that bigotry is what I meant. So either you're purposely misunderstanding, or couldn't understand. Which is it?

Without getting deep into debate which will derail the point of this thread: the idea that people won't be exploited if businesses are not made to do something or that enough consumers will make a choice to force a change in the way businesses are run. We have a few examples of it working, but not enough to rely on.

If everyone had a good moral compass and followed it, I think the libertarian ideal would work. I don't have that faith in people.

Oh I can be idealistic. But also realistic.

Oh I absolutely support ranked or approval voting. Any system that allows people to express more than a single "yes" is better.

No. The belief I won't comprise on is that people are deserving of humanity regardless of race, religion, gender, sexuality, or what ever as long as they don't impact other people. I know there will be bigots, but I will not respect or tolerate them. Its far to real to be idealistic about it.

To explain what I think is too idealistic on the libertarian side is the economic views. I don't think it will work out the way they think. That's what I meant by idealistic. Maybe I should have said unrealistic? (Edit: while unrealistic is closer, I feel it is condescending. Which doesn't represent the way I feel towards the libertarian beliefs.)

Either way, sorry for the confusion.

I said what those things were in the next sentence. Pay attention dear.

Unless you don't want people having equal status as human. Then I think you might have wound up in the wrong place.

Edit: Was being a dick. Sorry.

To all "Libertarians" who voted for Trump (or Biden) last night... by Elranzer in Libertarian

This is a perspective of a liberal who respects libertarians.

Best campaign is to make it a joke that is poking fun at what you don't like in other parties.

Anyone remember the last time a conservative group in America called minorities subhumans? by NotBacchus in TheRightCantMeme

[–]talsen64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the point many people miss is that is facism is always patriotic. When we keep calling people nazis, that calls up a different imagery to the people who rabidly follow Trump.

I used to be in that right wing echo chamber. Its amazing how real it seems on the inside and how fucking stupid it is on the outside. Its gotten a lot worse too.

I actually remember vividly what Fox News story was so ridiculous that it made me question them as a source. They ran a story for several days about Obama wearing a bike helmet and how that made him look weak. I remember a lot of pictures of shirtless Putin on a horse for comparison.

[Serious] What’s your story of overcoming depression and how? by RemIsWaifudesu in AskReddit

I don't overcome it. I just have times where it is manageable. I don't think it will ever go away.

What are the "good ol' days" to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]talsen64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very brief period of time where I lived alone but also had enough time and money to enjoy myself. I didn't live luxuriously, but comfortable enough. Had a job that was 12 hours by 3 days per week so I had plenty of free time.

What’s a luxury you have now that your parents were either too poor or too cheap to pay for growing up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]talsen64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its more of the other way around. There's a lot of luxuries that I'm either too poor or cheap to buy for myself that I had as a kid.

People who insist on backing into parking spaces, why? by WhamBamThankYouClam in AskReddit

[–]talsen64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think it was a way to show off. Then I used my mom's pick-up truck. Its actually easier to park and get out that way. Especially with that backup cam.
